@Brian W: That is exactly what I use this script for. I just use the regular "Remember the Milk for GMail" Firefox extension which displays RTM on the right side of the page. I use this script only to place GCal within the mainframe below the GMail message list. I am using Firefox 2, and it works fantastically! I don't use the RTM+Gmail Addons script, so I can't advise you on that, but the combination I described didn't require any special tweaking.

@The Dot: Great work! Thanks very much for the change!

If it's not too much work, the same bottom positioning would be great for the Compose page as well. The bottom portion of that page is also very short. I just noticed it today...

@The Dot: Yes, it does appear to be a little more complicated than my description, doesn't it... :)

Yes, I was only concerned about iframes below the regular email area.

I noticed that when I go to my GMail Contacts, the Contacts section is not cut off. The Contacts area is full height and the GCal section simply appears below it. I think that would be an even better and, in a way, simpler solution.

Really, the issue is more that areas for the GMail settings pages and for reading an email body are very short, since they are the height of the initial message list area.

If these sections instead appeared at full height with the GCal area below them, like the Contacts page, the problem would be solved. This would also avoid having to deal with all the different permutations of what to hide or collapse and when...

@The Dot: Hmm... I just have the one calendar within the iframe, with the "display in main frame" option. The iframe has a small vertical scrollbar which only scrolls the calendar about 3 pixels.

It is strange though. The calendar initially loads without a scrollbar and looks fine. Immediately after, the iframe content seems to refresh and the scrollbar appears.

It's really just a minor thing though. I barely notice it now.

I am not sure whether this is possible, but it would be great if there were a way to either hide the calendar, or collapse the iframe, when navigating to other gmail pages, i.e. when viewing message bodies, changing settings, etc.

Collapsing the calendar might be better when viewing a message, so that it is still accessible. Hiding it might be better when changing settings.

I just found myself doing it manually each time I go to those pages, and though it would be a nice touch.

I can't say enough about how great this script is though. Great work!

@searchforsunrise: Thanks. As you explained, changing "const COLLAPSED_MAIL_HEIGHT" eliminated the extra blue space at the bottom of the mail area.

I just found out the 40px high GCal area was my fault for not reading the instructions carefully. The height value in the preferences area is only a percentage when the calendar is outside the main frame, and other wise it is the height in pixels.

Increasing the value to 400 fixed everything up, and it wokrs great now.

A minor cosmetic thing I noticed. I get a vertical scrollbar for the GCal area that only moves the content a few pixels (less than 5).

I think the iframe is winding up just a few pixels shorter than the calendar content.

Just noting it in case anyone is interested. This script is now working great for me as is. I basically have gOutlook killer now! :)

I later tried disabling the RTM extension and the problem still remained.

As far as I can tell, there was nothing else running that was related to gmail.

This script is fantastic!

I would much prefer to display my GCalendar Inside the Main Frame, but when I set that option to true, the display goes buggy.

Specifically, the bottom blue bar of the gmail area is stretched down significantly, and the Calendar area is only about 25 pixels high (It is set to 60px +).

I use the Remember the Milk addon, though I don't know if that is related.
