Topic: Ideas and script requests / Google Reader Filtering I'm fairly new to Google Reader and quickly getting overwhelmed by the number of articles there are. Currently, I can tag things easily by starring them for later reading, then marking everything read to clear them out from the main folders. This accomplishes some of the filtering I'm looking for, but what really is needed are some other levels of filtering. Here are some ideas: Show only starred items in each subscription/tag "folder" (or show starred items at the top)
It would also be great to be able to tag things with a given tag without having to type it in, in the same way you can just hit the star icon and move on. What I am thinking is that one could have a few tags, like "toRead" "toBlog" "toShare" and then on the bottom of each entry next to the other buttons (like to star an item), you could have links to tag the item with these various tags. The script could be configurable so that you could use your own tag names, but could come with two or three defaults like this. Finally, this script (http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/22481) kind of gets part of the way towards the above, although it uses delicious. I wonder if this could be modified slightly to include multiple delicious tags - ie instead of just "toRead" have also a "toBlog" and "toShare" or something like that, so that there is some variability in tagging. |
