does this script make you go offline? it would not be good if people see you online and it looks like you're just ignoring them. has this been tested?

Hey LilJonny53: Shut up. If you have no need of this great script then stay away. There are millions of us who hate that damn chat, and the idiots at facebook doesn't give us a way to remove it.

I love this script - and I also love facebook chat... just not at the bottom of my window. Adam - you might be interested in the trick I use. Just make a bookmark to http://www.facebook.com/presence/popout.php and check the box "Load this bookmark in the sidebar". You can then use the chat window in your sidebar, and along with the script, clean up your facebook window. (I use Ubuntu and the chat bar at the bottom constantly flickers when it updates - very annoying.)

Well then this script obviously isn't for you LilJonny. But there are a lot of people who do find the chat bar annoying and would like to block it. That's why this script has been installed 400+ times already.

Hey Adam, I like your idea but that sounds like a LOT of work. I really just make these scripts for myself and then upload them as kind of an afterthought.

Since I don't intend to use the chat feature at all I don't really have any incentive to spend all that time making it work like you said. But I'm sure someone else on here could. Sorry about that man.

i'm being kind of lazy, and i'm sorry, but can you make a script that changes the location of the chat bar? Maybe put it on the side and make it vertical instead of horizontal?

I guess i don't know if that's possible without remapping the whole thing by hand, but i'm dealing with final exams right now so i don't have the time to figure it out :-/
