I agree, order by # of Installs should be the default. Also, the search should prioritize by title, if I search for "XMLHttpRequest Debugging" the XMLHttpRequestDebugging script is the last one listed on five pages of results!

I second that. I'm kinda shocked this place doesn't have such a feature! I'd like to know the search protocal then. When you search for a keyword, what makes the results show up in the order in which they do? I can see how not sorting them by most popular helps those that are trying to get themselves established with their own scripts. And if we are always going for the most popular ones, the little guys could be buried. That being said, I'd love to be able to search by most popular, just to see if there are any "must have" scripts that I'm not aware of.

It would be really cool to like "Digg" scripts too. That way we could give the thumbs up to a new script that is really cool. With searching, I think it would be really cool to have all the standard catagories like "Most downloaded", What's New, What's Hot, Recently Updated, etc. Kinda like the way the Add-on's Page is for Mozilla. Or even the interface for the company New Egg (www.newegg.com). They sell Computer stuff, but I've always liked the way you can sort stuff there.

ordering all scripts by their amount of installs is something that can only be done at the server level. However, ordering search results in such a way could be done with javascript.

Here Here. I think that would be a great idea. Half the time I love greasemonkeys scripts, but I have no idea what scripts to use. At least listing the popular ones might give me an idea. Here's an idea. Someone needs to make a greasemonkey script that shows what the most popular.

Make a list of most viewed and most downloaded.
this would make it easier to brows the best scripts, without any intentional site in mind.
