Can you make the option to stop autoplay and autodownload for channel videos?

No, another nice person has donated since you posted the message. Thanks! (although I only mentioned it to illustrate my opinion to naoki)

Yes, I have tested Flash 10 in a virtual machine and it seems to work ok with the script and the YouTube player. I have updated the script description.

naoki:

I have read about that new feature too, but I'm not in the US, so I can't see it yet. And I can't add a feature to delete it if I can't see it

read this - http://news.cnet.com/8301-1023_3-10060640-93.html

This doesn't affect me at all because the service is only avaliable in the u.s but soon there going to implant the click to buy feature and i'm thinking, why don't you just get it off limewire or something like that.So i recommend you to add a feature to block this click to buy feature.

This is an example video - http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=zlfKdbWwruY

"57547 installations and only 1 [one] person has donated" Is that right Airam, just 2€?

I know most installations these days come from automatic updates, but still... =\

changing the subject... The youtube (and the script) works now with the flash 10,0,12,10 (and probably up)... For everyone with sound problems with flash9 it is a great news!

Script updated:

- Added option to remove the video captions (subtitles)

Comment on YousableTubeFix made Oct 8, 2008:

Ah, I've fixed it. There was an extension conflict, I removed the offending extension and now it's working again.

Alala:

naoki is right, YousabletubeFix doesn't remove that box. Try creating a new profile and installing the script in it to see if it's an extension problem

Comment on YousableTubeFix made Oct 7, 2008:

naoki

Alala, this problem is not a bug in yousabletubefix, its something to do with your computer.i did isactly what you said and everything was fine.try disabling all firefox addons.

Comment on YousableTubeFix made Oct 6, 2008:

Alala

yes, I am talking about the video information box. I have tried numerous combinations of settings for yousabletubefix and have also disabled all of my other scripts, but the problem still persists.

anonymous_user:

It was added some time ago. I'm glad you like it ;-)

naoki:

Ok, I'll think about a system to configure the format choosing

DeathWolf:

Thanks for the report. I've encounter that issue before and didn't know Flash 9 had that limit

Alala:

What description box are you talking about? The video information box?

Comment on YousableTubeFix made Oct 5, 2008:

Alala

I've recently noticed a bug. If I check the "resize video by default" option, then the description box doesn't show up.

Comment on YousableTubeFix made Oct 3, 2008:

DeathWolf

The latest flash 10 beta fixes the issue with youtube.

A good reason to move to flash 10 is that flash 9 can not load properly more than ~10 videos with sound.

Great script otherwise, though it'd be nice to be able to replace the player(but that's not exactly easy)

I know i already said this but i would just want to clear some things out.

1. Add an option to choose H264 over HQ FLV or HQ FLV over H264. Also even though not all music videos arn't in the "music" category 90% of them are.

I dont know when you added the option for separate autoplay and autodownload, but thank you. Im back to using YousableTubeFix.

ShdNx:

I've send you an e-mail to your address

naoki:

1. I'll note that down, but I don't understand why would anyone do that. The ability to resize the video and change its quality are the main features of the script

2. That is something I have thought about too. The H264 version has better audio, but I'm not sure about the video quality. I'll see what I can do about that

I can see problems with your suggestion about categories: there are many music videos which aren't in the Music category, and it would cause confusion that the script choose different qualities for different categories. And a Greasemonkey script can't definitively do what you suggest about taking the video and the audio from different sources and multiplex it together

3. I see. I'll try to fix that in the next version

4. Thank you for your support and feedback

This has got nothing to do with yousabletubefix but any users having a problem withthe message "This video is no longer available" then unninstall google web accelerator.

Mindeye, I understand popularity isn't your main objective so i'll leave you alone with that but i would appreciate if you would atleast read my suggestions and maybe apply them to future versions of yousabletubefix.

1. Add an option to hide resize links and the quality selector

2. Add an option to choose H264 over HQ FLV or HQ FLV over H264. I've done some research of my own and found that HQ FLV has the best video format but HQ FLV has the best audio format. Also the feature should automatically choose H264 over HQ FLV when watching a video under the categories "music" and if your watching any other videos that aren't under the categories "music" then it would stream HQ FLV over H264 . But what would be really awesome is if it streamed the video of HQ FLV and streamed the audio of H264 at the same time when avaliable. This feature should be avaliable in - Select default video format - Best quality avaliable. http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=VT11GGD7qlI - thats where i got the information from where it says HQ FLV is better the H264 for quality but H264 is better for audio. I also advise you to read some of this - http://blog.jimmyr.com/High_Quality_on_Youtube_...

3. When you hide the quality settings link there should be a tiny space between because it doesn't look right and normal videos with no high quality links have a tiny space between each other e.g - http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=VJ5unYaNd3c&featu...

4. Keep up the awesome work!

Hey there!

Thanks for the script! I personally don't use Firefox, I prefer using Opera.

For this reason, I've made the Opera version. It seem to be working now, I've been working on it for... 4 hours (long script, huh), and there still might be bugs in it.

So please contact me via e-mail or MSN, my address is: kozargabor (at) gmail (dot) com

Once we've found the script okay, I'll publish it, so others can download it. We'll talk about that.

I appreciate your suggestions, but I don't really have the time or desire to do all that. Actually, I'm always struggling to find time to work on YousableTubeFix, I stopped working in the Opera version because of that

I really develop this script for myself, because I find it useful (almost indispensable ;-) ) and share it with others, I don't make money from it (57547 installations and only 1 [one] person has donated). Popularity is nice, but it isn't my main objective

4 words, Make your own website!

although userscript.org may be a pretty big community its nothing compared to download.com or addons.mozilla.org . I recommend you make a firefox version of this script and upload it to my suggested sites. Please read some of my suggestion below before uploading the script to the big community.

1.Change the script name, I cant struggle to tell you how important this is. I've had many experiences and so i would know yousabletubefix is too long. Pick a name short and simple. e.g YouFix or PROTube. These names have obviously not being put to a lot of thought to so the name is totally up to you but remember, short and simple.

2.Make sure the script is NOT Move and resized the video by default and the default video size is 1x. I know by experience users (noobs) are going to complain about this even though you can configure it to not move and resize the video by default

3.Add an option to hide resize links

3.Add an option to choose H264 over HQ FLV or HQ FLV over H264. I've done some research of my own and found that HQ FLV is best for quality videos but H264 is best for music videos. And by default choose H264 over HQ FLV, again noobs will complain about this.

5.Change the script into a firefox addon and finish the opera version before release of the firefox version because google chrome already owns 1% marketshare of all the web browsers and increasingly rising and at a high rate and is an astonishing effort since its only being released for a few weeks.

6.When your done naming your firefox addon make sure the domain website name is avaliable and so make the website, e.g PROTube.com

7. Once you completed all this your firefox addon / script will be rocketing sky high in a few weeks.

I'm not saying to quit making userscripts and start making firefox versions. i would recommend you use userscript.org as a beta test to all users out there before launching the firefox release where there could be huge bugs and all sorts of stuff.

Why would we want to use Youtube downloading software when we can get a script that gives us a link on the page.

YouTube player has a problem with Flash 10 Beta (see the common problems section in the script description). This happens with and without the script. Uninstall and install Flash 9 to solve the problem
