Good enough. Since there is now no current demand or need for the feature, I'll take it off the "active" and put it on the "things to consider working on when I am ineffably bored" list. |

An example serves the dual purpose of making sure we are talking about exactly the same thing for exactly the same environment, and allowing me to directly test and debug a new feature for the desired board. If you know a different board where you expect the same behavior for filtering, that should do the trick. Otherwise, I'll probably test against my board or a handy higher-traffic board, as time permits. |

Maybe. Problem has always been that phpBB doesn't generate a lot of unique information to properly distinguish an entry, but a look at the DOM for viewforum.php shows it might be possible (viewtopic is the actual message thread and is already hidden for a user by the script, right?). Give me a board link you want me to look at/test with, maybe with a test example (doesn't have to be the real user you want to block), and I'll take a look this weekend for possible enhancement. |

Version 3.1 fixes a minor bug where member names to delete containing commas would stop the script. All names should now process properly. That is the only change. |

Well, maybe next month. |

script doesn't work when replying to emails, is that correct? Nope, just tested here (I don't normally use the script) and it works okay in replying. The multiple identity to select is at the very bottom of the page, however. Location seems to move around a bit, depending on what is being done. |

For 2) you need to double-escape a double-quote " with two leading backslash \ characters. You can probably use a single quote ' by tripling escaping it, although that one I haven't tried. The signature will successfully take at least a few HTML codes. One that I've seen work here contained EM, FONT (including face, size, and color), STRONG, A, and, of course, PRE. Other codes probably work, although there may be conflicts or restrictions with Gmail's existing styles. |

No, no, no, chefscotticus, as an accused 'Contributor To The Degradation Of Netiquette' for sponsoring the original script modification and thereby contributing to the Great Evil Top-Posting, you are to appear contrite and forlorn, not happy and enthusiastic. Anyway, that lifehacker thread beating up your script mod is worth one Mild Amusement power-up. Too bad they stopped before splattering slaver and achieving Moderate to Major Amusement status. |

I have some stuff on my plate now, but if nothing/nobody else moves on this feature in the next week, I'll take another look at it. The script is probably slagged one or two other places I can't remember, but a few of the comments in the original lifehacker post are certainly worth an eye-roll, at http://lifehacker.com/software/email/download-o... The best quote I see at a glance is this: "Gotta agree on this one. This GM script just contributes to the degradation of what little netiquette we have left. GMail does the right thing by putting the sig at the bottom, and YES thos two dashes are indeed there for a reason - read above....." So there you go, chefscotticus, you have "contributed to the degradation" of the Internet. I'd feel proud about that, were I you. |

Mondo Meta Version 2.x is a major update over all 1.x versions, introducing styles and tagging, along with minor enhancements, bugfixes, and performance improvements. (Man, that squishing down to size of the screenshot JPEGs is ugly ugly ugly. They look a lot better on the home page.) |

Helping a script user with a semi-painful tech support session tonight that should have only taken a few minutes reminded me of an idea for the chefscotticus script that I think should be considered. I think the script should be modified such that users could select their e-mail addresses, colors, and signatures interactively via a dialog box, or at least via about:config settings, rather than by directly modifying the script's code. This change would make using the script less painful than requiring coding changes -- a difficult task for nonprogrammers to do correctly, especially if they have embedded single or double quotes or other miscellany in their script to add to the confusion. The change also would mean that users could install the script directly from this site and have it actually do useful things right out of the box. However, I'm very reluctant to fork Yet Another Version of the script, particularly since the original script author publicly asked for comments about merging in code from this chefscotticus variant. So I say, chefscotticus, what do you think about sponsoring another modification to your script as an update? Keeping the modification here maintains the same script fork count and, I think, should keep your script popular in the downloads (assuming you care about that). |

Version 1.3 of Mondo Image is a relatively minor upgrade from 1.2. The main difference is that automatically expanded file extensions are now case-insensitive so you don't have to input JPG, jpg, JPg, etc. to catch all of an allowed extension file type. |

Should you add the signature insertion revision of chefscotticus's script, you might seriously consider implementing the modification as an option, e.g. via an on/off value selected with about:config's editor or another dynamic setting. Otherwise, you will probably annoy people who hate the chefscotticus script since it lends support to e-mail top-quoting. This includes people who have berated it on a public forum highlighting the new script, apparently oblivious to the fact that chefscotticus's idea for revision was sufficiently popular to receive ~1000 downloads in one month. Actually, I don't think the issue is a real big deal, but thought I would make you aware that those feelings are out there. Accommodating both top- and bottom-posters as the user's choice is easy to do and could avoid general ill will. Me, I'm top/bottom quote neutral, but the quoting religious wars clearly still rage on, even after many years. Perhaps that's a net plus, as it gives people something silly to waste their time debating, rather than engaging in more dangerous pursuits. |

No-effort fixes are my favorite type of fix. Well, no effort on my part. |

I hacked out the logic used in this version from the original script, so maybe I can hack out a fix for it. Busy this weekend, but if nobody else comes up with a fix in the next couple of days, I'll see whether some basic tweakage will re-fix things early next week. If we're lucky there isn't a major rewrite of logic involved. Any nonobvious further information on the failure or examples would be great, assuming it's even necessary. I don't actually use the script myself, just do testing before release. |

New version with multiple country support is up and available. Also adds filter for maximum feedback score, per user request. Got to figure out how to trim the width of those screen shots without making them illegible. Oh well. |

Okay, I think I've figured out a way to make the script work with both .de and .com. While I'm at it, I'll add a few more countries (.ca is trivial) and a requested feature. Update in a day or two, barring unforeseen circumstances. Thanks for the push. |

Sure, shoot me the changes and maybe we can get a dual/multi-country integrated script, give you a credit line in it. |

Version 3.0 changes the way it detects the administration page link to better accommodate different board styles. The change also better protects against idiots who might try to spoof an administration link inside their own information by tightening the administration link match and not allowing navigation off the main domain page. |

Version 2.5 was written to work with a problematic board that used a nondefault style resulting in the control buttons were not displaying. The script changes should provide more graceful degradation of operation if expected internal structures are not present (although it might be uglier, not much I can do about that). |

In version 2.0 two new buttons supply additional information about the listed users to help you decide whether or not a member name is valid. The Show Email button toggles between the normal email icon display and the actual email address of members. The Show Website button toggles between the normal website icon display and the website link. |
