Thanks for the help. Screen Userscripts has been updated, and no longer affects install count. (Except for people installing Screen Userscripts :)

Yeah, actually, i did some poking around, and have pretty much deducted that indeed, any time the *.user.js file is accessed, it increments the install count. This doesn't work to great with my Screen Userscripts userscript. Every time Screen Userscripts scans a file, the install count goes up for that file. If a bunch of people are running Screen Userscripts, that file's install count will go up any time any of them even visit the page. Also, by scanning all of the scripts on the front page, all of the scripts on the front page will have their install count incremented. :(

Admins: Is there any way, we/I can get Screen Userscripts to not update the install counts? I notice that clicking "View script source" from a userscript's description does not increment the install count. How is the source page getting the source? Could we do something similar with Screen Userscripts?

Sorry, but does this number actually just represent the number of page visits that userscript's description has? If so, could it maybe be changed to be when people actually click "Install this script", or at least not include the author, when they are logged in?

You might consider setting up a paypal account, and then putting a "Donate" link somewhere on the site, so people could donate with paypal to help with server costs. You could even surround that link, too, with <div> tags for people who don't want to see that either. :)
