Ok, I give in, how do you replace the Google beta logo?

Cipher Script's Author

hi there!
the buttons are aligned with the rest of the elements...it's because they have rounded edges they seem to be unaligned.
Cheers :)

Cipher,

Thanks for this well-written and useful script.

One request: Can you make the position of the "beautified buttons" move down by 1 px? I can't seem to figure out how to do that, though that will align them perfectly with other elements around them (everywhere).

Best,

/s

The "replace logo" function stopped working for me today (Dec 2, 2007). Is it just me? If not, any ideas on how to get it working again?

A clean "Gmail" logo is so much nicer than a "Gmail Beta" one!

The User Scripts Commands menu is disabled in the new version. Can't change the options :-(

Thanks for making it work with the new interface..

I did more tests : I'm using Epiphany which has its own greasemonkey implementation. While Gmail Beautifier 1.x was working fine, it appears to be no longer the case with 2.x. It doesn't seem to support unsafeWindow ATM.

But I confirm it works with Firefox..

Cipher Script's Author

no you're not dumb. Actually there are other people who wrote greasemonkey scripts to remove the web clips, now that's dumb :)

jpslim User

Wow...that was a fast fix, I feel dumb :(

Cipher Script's Author

hi jpslim,

the top text are web clips & can be hidden through your gmail settings.
Just go to settings -> Web Clips
and uncheck the "Show my web clips above the Inbox"
checkbox.
Cheers

Hey Cipher,

Thanks for the fix-- the right side ads are hidden for me (with the << option to unhide which is nice). The banner text ad on the top doesn't hide for me FYI. Much appreciated.

hi Frederic,

-buttons are meant to look this way (i will add the option of choosing the button looks later)

-ad blocking DOES work, there's something wrong on ur machine

Frederic User

tested version 2.0 (with Gmail new ajax engine):
-buttons are rounded only in top left corner, it looks a little strange
-ad blocking doesn't work
-replacing gmail beta logo works

Harold Ashpole User

It works great now, Thanks~

Cipher Script's Author

hey Fredric, thanks for the hint!
i did not know that, cheers

I'm sure you are already aware of it, but next gmail JS engine has hooks for Greasemonkey now, so it might be easier for you. See http://code.google.com/p/gmail-greasemonkey/wik...

hello guys, as u can see those gmail guys screwed our script!
im very busy at work this week & the new code is full with AJAX making my job harder. Don't worry I will work on a solution on the weekend.
Get ready for version 2!

jpslim User

Hi there- hiding of ads is also not working for me, must be related to their new update. If fixable, that would be outstounding! :)

Another problem with new Gmail UI : Gmail new contact manager doesn't load correctly when Beautifier is enabled.

About the rounded buttons, would it be possible to use the same button as the one in Google Reader. They are image based but they look very nice.

The scripts needs to be updated to be compatible with the Newer Version of GMail, the one with UI enhancements.

Hide GMail Ads is not working.... the feature I like the most.

Great! I think that it needs more contrast on the buttons though.

cinesnow, I changed the color of the buttons border & that made them look cleaner & i think more appealing than just removing the border....check it & tell me what you think :)

cinesnow User

I took away the blue border on the buttons by changing the buttons' code to look as so:

styleCode="button {border-style:solid; border-width:0px;

It really makes the buttons look a lot cleaner; I'd recommend including this fix in a future release!

hey Raffles, I like your way as well :)
it's kinda nice to see cool scripts NOT being copied from each other & that happens a lot in here.

Ha, it's amazing how many people have the same idea when writing a script. I wrote a script ( http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/9409 ) that does the same thing with the email body, though it's a little different in how it handles the links above the ads.

Anyway, it's nice to see someone else had this idea. :)
