Thanks to Twitter, since last night Tweetfilter no longer works. There's a message that reads "Tweetfilter failed to initialize. You may try to refresh the page." when I go to Twitter.

I hope Tweetfilter gets updated! :-)

I'm a bit worried as there has not been any reply to this (nor at any of the queries at https://github.com/Tweetfilter/tweetfilter.gith...). Is Chilla42o still around?

I've had to move to "Destroy Twitter", a desktop app that has filters. Not as great as Tweetfilter but it's making my Twitter timeline manageable. :-\

Getting the same message myself in Mac OS X Lion and latest Chrome:
"Tweetfilter failed to initialize. You may try to refresh the page."

It's been a month now. Either something bad has happened to the author (I hope not!!!) or he's decided to move on (again, I hope not!!!). I wish we knew one way or another.

Code has been posted at github that may correct the problem, but I have no idea how to install it and I would rather install something that comes from the original author, if at all possible.

Still using "Destroy Twitter" but I've deactivated Tweetfilter to stop getting the error message when I actually need to go to Twitter.com but I still hope Chilla42o will update this great script.

Someone made a fork of it that appears to work, it has some oddball positioning things, https://github.com/cakebaker/tweetfilter.github... the regular user.js has been updated and works for me thus far.

Thanks for pointing 'fork' out, I've noticed he's been adding snippets of code here and there, but didn't think he added 'all in one' script.
This script is so good, every site should have one.

I don't understand what the last two posts above me are referring to.

Sometime earlier this year tweetfilter also stopped working for me. I was using the bookmarklet. I know there was another way to install it, but I chose the bookmarklet since I felt it was easier to setup and also not permanent, whereas from what I understood, the other way was permanent unless one uninstalled or deactivated it.

So, is that what the two last posts were referring to? And if yes, what exactly do I download and how do I install it, since http://tweetfilter.org/ is no longer up.

Also, what happened with the bookmarklet method? Has this project been abandoned?

I can't find any software out there that does what this incredible bookmarklet did. If they exist, can someone please mention them here. I see that "Destroy Twitter" was mentioned, which I haven't tried yet. Besides that, are there others? Especially in the form of a bookmarklet?

If you go to that page I linked above and click the Zip link, open the zip file, go in the main folder then extract the tweetfilter.user.js file (or you may be able to just drag it directly, I don't know off hand) then drag it into firefox, greasemonkey should pick it up and let you install it. As noted in my above post there appeared to be some issues with positioning (I adjusted it to work with another script I use as well so I forget the original position/line)
