Everything was working fine then I decided to try an Alt key combination. I tried Alt + 2 to turn the sidebar off and on. That worked except that now I can only open or close the sidebar with Alt + 2. The mouse hover no longer works. I tried removing and reinstalling the script with no help. What do I need to do to make the mouse hover work again? Also, thanks for the great script.

Hi jcj,

It's easy, just use the settings menu (right-hand side of bar at top) and select "autohide sidebar".

I hope this is intuitive enough. I couldn't decide whether Alt+2 should toggle autohide or not... (or maybe keep autohide on but temporarily display the sidebar). I dunno!

Thanks for the quick reply. This must be my dunce day. I cannot find anything to select autohide. I see it in your script but I cannot find it on the page any place. Also, I run a userstyle through Stylish to set my iGoogle page colors the way I want them. (I turned this off when trying to find autohide.) Every time Google changes the variable names I have to hunt and play to make my page work again. Is there a listing of the variable names any place? Thanks for your help!

hmm, that's strange. The "autohide sidebar" menu item should be located in the menu in the top-right of your iGoogle page. The menu has a picture of a cog wheel on it and it is right next to your username (on the black bar at the top). In that menu you should see things like "iGoogle Settings" but also "Header (Alt+1)" and "Autohide sidebar".

Anyway, if you don't have that, my next suggestion would be to clear your cookies as all Super iGoogle settings are stored as cookies. Clearing the cookies will reset you to default Super iGoogle settings (and I'm pretty sure autohide is on by default). Hope this helps!

I thought it was the cog wheel. When I use that it just takes me to the Google preferences page. Could you tell me which cookie should be deleted. I really don't want to delete them all if I don't need to. Thanks again.

I found the right cookie and deleted. All works now. Thanks for your help.
