in reg to the issues with misc files lately is this update safe to use ?

have become sceptical to the auto updater for some reason :P

Yes, as of update 1.0.8c, a safe copy of the auto-updater is now being hosted by HolyScmidt (author of the CR Converter) on his betawarriors site (instead of on UserScripts as the auto-updater previously was). Regardless, the problem was with the "Ikariam Developer Tools" script - and not the auto-updater so there was never any problem with any of my scripts having been hacked (since I never used the hacked script).

The latest update (1.0.8d) was to modify the pages the Aide-Memoire scripts run on:

  • It never ran in the town view -- so it can't see the button to abandon towns;
  • It never ran in any building views -- so it can't see any buttons to demolish buildings; and
  • This update changed it to run in the "Game Options" option page (instead of the "Account Details" option page) so it can't try to delete a player's account.

All-in-all I belive the script to be (and to always have been) safe.
