Did you try the reload button on your browser? Sometimes the link under the horse doesn't work.

I don't think it's the script that causes it. It seems to be a server issue. KoC is extra-buggy lately.

I'll look into a reload delay and see if that clears it up, but I think it has more to do with their servers lagging.

I guess I'm doing something wrong cos I can't find anyone else posting about this but I can't get past the running horse *ever* no matter how many times I reload either with the reload link or via F5 or from going back to Facebook and relaunching KoC.

Any hints?

Works just fine for me, i click the Reload button under the horse about 100 times, really fast sometimes, Hence it's the server..

Mmmm, not sure my mousing skills stretch as far as clicking a link 100 times really quickly - maybe we need a script for that. ;)

I think the assertion that KoC is extra-buggy is now not as true as it was previously. Indeed it seems that most operations are now working with just one mouse click and the number of times I need to reload is very much reduced compared to before the change that blocked some scripts. I had a pet theory that the instabilities was a crude but deliberate strategy for KoC to deal with people using scripts. The fact that the improved stability of the game coincided with the introduction of the changes to detect the use of GreaseMonkey et al could support this theory - or maybe they'd say that large numbers of script users were causing the instabilities and the change to reduce these numbers has improved stability.

Sorry - I'm starting to ramble (over exposure to KoC does that to a person)

I'll try clicking the link 100+ times really fast and see what happens - I'll report back

After changing it to load in the iFrame, it hasn't stalled on the horse page for me.

Look at the bottom-left corner of your browser window, you will see:

" Waiting for... "
" Connecting to... "
" Transferring data... "
" Read... "
or " Done "

Only press reload if it says " Done " and you're still on the horse page,
or you've sat there 5 minutes and the text hasn't changed.

Otherwise you're the one interrupting the data stream,
and are the reason the page won't load,
especially by pressing it 100 times in a row.

No change for me - it repeatedly hangs at the horse (and bottom right it always runs through to "done"). Shame 'cos this script sounds like it would be very helpful. Still I've played the game for several months without it so I guess I'll survive.

There is DEFINITELY something wrong... I cannot load into the game with widemap active the moment i switch it off it loads in less than 2 seconds. I'm runing this POC helper and KOCAttack. Neither of the 2 others seem to make a difference. Weird thing is it works in one firefox window but not in the other....(I run 2 accounts at the same time) It must be some sort of cache issue or something... I'll try to uninstall, clear firefox out and then reinstall.

ok so the problem seems to be with specific domains... I can load into 2 domains fine but the 3rd won't load(with widemap on) and just get's stuck on the horse.

assuming you have a new version of firefox installed
http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/upgrade.html

you also have the latest version of the KoC-WideMap script installed?

.

I don't think I'd attempt opening multiple accounts with the same browser.
I'd 'prolly install another browser version somewhere, based on firefox

perhaps this one if I were on Windows:
http://www.palemoon.org/

then run one account in one browser, and the other account in the other browser.

.

if you are so inclined, you may try this tip instead:

http://www.stanleyshilov.com/blog/how-to-run-mu...

(other pages that show the same tip, to help explain what they are doing)

http://www.callum-macdonald.com/about/faq/multi...

http://lifehacker.com/software/firefox/geek-to-...

.

perhaps they are trying different code out on different servers...

which server doesn't seem to work?

I was already using the multiple instances of firefox.

I just did the following:

1. Uninstall all scripts including the settings tickbox
2. close all instances of firefox
3. update firefox to the most recent version (thought i was up to date but i wasn't)
4. start FF and install widemap, attack helper and build helper

everything seems to work fine now.

hmm, but it worked on a previous version?
.

what color is the background when it freezes?

What server are you on?

What language are you using?

Are you using other scripts?

.

Do you have the most recent version of Firefox?

You can check here: http://www.thismachine.info/

It should say "you appear to be using Firefox 3.6.8"

if not, update it here: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/upgrade.html

.

If that doesn't work, perhaps you could install an earlier WideMap 'till I figure it out.

http://userscripts.org/scripts/versions/78937

try one from July 20 or Aug 11.
Anything before July 20 won't handle the updated iFrame.

Ok people evidently KOC fixed whatever issue they had. I was using widemap and it failed to load KOC correctly 2 out of 4 times. I disabled widemap and reinstalled Dondavia original power bot here http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/95542 and it's working great again. Enjoy

Just to let you know, the wide map feature was working fine on my computer until I downloaded the new 4.0 update for Firefox. The precise moment the update was downloaded, wide map failed. There's obviously a compatibility issue there. Good luck.
