want to hide "XX likes your comment" in Notifications

This is a new "feature" that is filling up my Notification pull-down. |

Doesn't Facebook let you configure what notifications you get? |

Sorry I wasn't very informative in the original. This link may help a little. http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2365190,00... The Notification I have issue with is the one that shows up in the Header under the "globe" icon. As when someone "like"s your status you see a notification with a link to your status, this also posts a notification with a link to your comment BUT includes the quoted comment (no matter how long it is) as well. This makes for an unmanageable pull-down which requires one to fully open (change pages) the "See All Notifications" page. Perhaps this is a little anal on my part but I'm sure someone will provide a filter for this sooner or later. |

The main problem with that, is that if you get so many notifications that you need to go to the notifications page to see them all, filtering the popup won't help you. It will just show you a shorter list and you'll have to go to the notifications page to see them all anyway. This is another example of something that really ought to be done server-side by Facebook, so people should ask Facebook for better control over notifications (the options they provide seem to relate only to email). But since we know how often they take users' suggestions into account, I'll see if I can think up a decent way to handle this. |

I totally agree with your observation that FB should be providing much more control over LOTS of things you are doing for US, but as you noted they don't. I haven't really seen a "likes" notification of any kind that I cared about. The main use of notifications for me are the ones related to comments and new posts. Example Notifications I would like to hide: David Zen likes your comment: "Don't make me go Johnny Quest on your ass!". 8:55am
