Maybe you're using another script that interferes with Gmail. This script should never be injected in Gmail, as it's only added to pages that have the following URL patterns:

http://www.google.*/
http://www.google.*/webhp*
http://www.google.*/#*

Gmail uses:

http://mail.google.com/mail/*
https://mail.google.com/mail/*
