[FIXED] Chrome Beta Channel
![]() ![]() |
Hiya~ I apologize if this is redundant. I would just like to draw attention to this issue so that other dummies like me don't kick themselves for not searching hard enough~ :) I have been using Google Chrome lately. Initially I proceeded to install this script and had no luck with it. I have come to the same conclusion as Nosgoroth (although I did not know about this post) in the Chrome Support (http://userscripts.org/topics/41126) topic after performing a few tests and version changes. For the time being, I have downgraded my installation of Chrome to the releases of the beta channel~ The development channel release of Google Chrome, currently at 5.0.342.3, does not seem to support this script! While attempting (images do not appear to load after "Chapters loaded!" prompt) to view a chapter, pressing Prev or Next once will attempt to switch the chapter. Further attempts always result in the "Wait a bit, then try again" message and no status messages are displayed~ The Google Chrome beta release channel, currently at 4.1.149.1030, on the other hand, appears to work as intended~ It may be worth the time to try swapping versions of Google Chrome (after backing up any profile data) to see if the issue can be (easily) resolved. The cause of this (assuming it isn't rooted in a regression in the browser's GM extension code) will likely migrate to the Beta and Stable channels given time~ If you don't feel like doing that yet ('cause the dev versions change like the wind), it would be nice to see a more noticeable or direct note about it (perhaps in the issues, or requirements section) on the script's main page in the until the Beta releases reach version 5 or the issue is resolved~ :) Currently, this statement conflicts with usability:

Thank you for pointing that out. It was very irresponsible of me to assume that this script will be compatible with versions higher than the version I use to test and develop this script. I apologize for causing you trouble ^^; |

Thank you for making the change to the script's requirements. That should help people to avoid running into issues with it in the future. :) |

Hello~ http://googlechromereleases.blogspot.com/ The Google Chrome Beta channel has just been updated to use versions 5+, which includes the issues formerly experienced on the Dev 5+ builds. It seems like the issue migrated over to the Beta version sooner rather than later, so I've edited this discussion thread's name to make it correct for the given information. :) I notice now that in addition to images not loading normally/at all, the Manga List drop-down also contains and displays no data which I had not noticed when I had used the Dev version of Chrome. Additionally, trying to load a bookmark returns "There has been an error with retrieving data from One Manga's site. Please refresh the page to try again." for me, which could be related to the above~ A fix for this issue will likely restore support in the Dev channel version making the newly added "dev-channel version of Google Chrome is not supported" note obsolete. :) |

Hi again, Sparkle. I don't know what I'd do without you guys, coming over here and bugging me about these problems. Thanks again. The latest update is meant as a fix for the people who are on the current BETA channel. I've yet to try if the script will finally start working on the stable channel. |

Hello again~ I have tested chapter loading on current revision of the script with:
All appear to work, however, I have not gone in-depth. Thank you for fixing the Chrome chapter loading issue. :) |

Oh! It does? Well that's good. I'm guessing you installed the update I posted AFTER I replied to you :D I will be supporting stable and beta. If it works in dev, then that would be accidental :D The most recent update (2.3b) will now allow the users to run the script on the stable version of Chrome (finally), which is a good thing. |

You are right, I did install it after you replied, although I had noticed a release posted a small bit of time prior~ An accidental fix is still an improvement none the less :) |
