I read the discussions and a lot of user problems with initial usage resulting from
* Need to wait 1 hour until you can see first notification.
* Friends who are added and removed under 1 hour are missed by the script.
I think adding an option to initiate a check will be good for a few reasons:
* The "Refresh" factor: this script is great to check if something you wrote on facebook resulted in lost friends. Like in any other user interface, the more immediate the check is, the more enjoyable it is.
* Allows the users to control his own personal interval if 1 hour is too long.
* Will eliminate the problem to test the script and filter a lot of early help posts.
Might be cool.. think about it
