I've installed a few scripts from here. One of them being a script to automatically maximize youtube videos. However once I installed it, it did not work. So I restarted Firefox, but after I restarted, greasemonkey didn't even show it anymore. And when I try to reinstall it, I get an error saying that it already exists. So does anyone know how to fix this, or a way to clear out all the scripts so I can start new? I already uninstalled all the scripts that I could in greasemonkey, and I also even tried uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox, and still nothing. |

Ok guys i think i figured it out. ~ Open up the 'Manage user scripts...' window and uninstall your scripts. ~ Then find the folder that firefox puts the .js files and delete everything EXCEPT config.xml ~ My folder was "C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\npu2p5fy.default\gm_scripts" After i did that i was able to install scripts again with no problem. You may not need to do all of this but i did and everything works fine for me now. For some reason greasemonkey was not fully uninstalling the scripts from the 'Manage user scripts...' window. It took it off the list but the .js files remained in the folder. |

Note that there is an open thread in the newsgroup concerning an issue with GreaseMonkey 0.6.9 failing to install new scripts. |

I have hit this problem, also. When I attempt to re-install a script I don’t get errors, but the script disappears from the script list and further attempts to install get this error popup: Error installing user script: [Exception... “Component returned failure code: 0x80520008 (NS_E RROR_FILE_ALREADY_EXISTS) [nsILocalFile.copyTo]” nsresult: “0x80520008 (NS_E RROR_FILE_ALREADY_EXISTS)” location: “JS frame :: chrome: //greasemonkey /content/config.js :: anonymous :: line 148” data: no] Deleting the .js file for the specific script seems to clear the problem out such that I can successfully do an install. |

problem is, even after doing this, it's still removing the scripts again. not all, but exactly those that I need. Who is responsible for greasemonkey, who is supposed to fix it? |
