I absolutely love this script.
It does everything I want and the amount you can change is brilliant too.
The only thing I don't like is the media resizer.
I've tried all the different options and I still don't like any of them.
Is there any way you could possibly add an option to let youtube decide as normal please?

Ha... you're on GG chrome... there a problem with detecting the wide videos...
I'll try to fix it in the next release.

Thanks for the reply.
I thought this might be the problem as everything else seems solid.
Looking forward to it!

I'm on Chromium by the way.

By the way, I had figured out that setting it as 854 x 480,
it gave me the right sized video.
Would still be nice to bypass it altogether though if at all possible?

You can configure the Media Resizer in the "YouTube Enhancer General Options" => "Media Resizer" Tab. (You can set the 2 or 3 customs size buttons)

Try the last version... and see if it working fine.

Still doesn't work.
I think it's not detecting widescreen videos.

If I select the 480+ (YT LQ) option,
it works perfectly, just making the widescreen video smaller.

The default youtube seem to be using at the moment is 854x480.
If I use this as a custom option size under 4:3, it works.

However if I choose the 854 options from both the 4:3 and wide menus,
a widescreen video comes up as 854x640.

ok...
In the source, find the

//show_alert(gvar.ytc_LOC+'/'+gvar.ytc_WIDE+'/'+gvar.ytc_ISHD+'/'+gvar.ytc_EMBURL,1);
and remove the
//
An error box will appear at the top of the YouTube pages...
Can you tell me what's written in it ?

Is that right?

yes, and it still not in wide ?
The "Media Resizer" must show a "YT HQ" Button.

In fact that one I sent you.
It seems to be working now although nothing at all has changed?
It may have been the version of Chromium as it is always being updated...

lukesweeney User
ChromeMacintosh

Yes it does, in the wide options.
This is the same as before although it wouldn't use that option as it didn't recognise it as a widescreen video.
Now it seems to be recognising it correctly.

With this one it has made it smaller.
Is this because it is lower quality?

When the video is detected as a 4:3 video, the script use the 4:3 options.
And if the video is detected as a wide video, the script use the wide options.

Is this because it is lower quality?
No, it's because youtube detected it as a 4:3 video.
(if the first boolean is false => 4:3 / if the first boolean is true => wide)

lukesweeney User
ChromeMacintosh

Well of course.
But the one I sent you IS widescreen isn't it?

lukesweeney User
ChromeMacintosh

Nope not that one.

lukesweeney User
ChromeMacintosh

Yeah it's working now.
The problem earlier was that they were all using the 4:3 options.
I think it must have been the version of Chromium as the script is no different.
Thanks a lot for your help and patience though.
This makes YouTube exactly as I wanted it!

So have you been able to get rid of the media resizing option? I can get mine to resize to the actual video size BUT for the first 3 seconds, it stays at the default one (the one thats preset with the script) and then it resizes to what I want (which is the default setting youtube has). Is there a way to bypass loading your default video size first? It kinda gets annoying when everytime you try to watch a video, the video box goes from big to small. I just want it to load the regular size video without having to first load your script's default size.

So an option would be to get rid of the resize option (which, after reading the second post, I assume you will do soon). That'd be great.

ps. keep up the great support. Appreciate it^

btw, the above problem occurs in both firefox and chrome. Chrome is what I use mostly though.

The first size you see is not from my script, but from YouTube.
The second size you see is from the "Media Resizer" of my script.

You can change the default size in the General Options -> "Media Resizer" tab
For 4:3 video: "Default button for 4:3 video"
For Wide video: "Default button for wide video"
