FF 3.6 Issue
![]() ![]() |
Has anybody else had an issue since the update to FF 3.6?? I get the below message when switching accounts, usually one the second switch. Sometimes on the first one. I then have to delete all my google cookies to fix the issue otherwise it will not let you even go to a google site. "The page isn't redirecting properly"

Are both of the accounts gmail.com addresses, or are either of them Google Apps accounts? I had this happen to me once, but I can't remember which account it happened with. |

Same problem here, wanting to switch between 3 Gmail accounts, get the same error and have to clear cookies to access Gmail.com again. |

Forgot to add, when you switch to another account (i.e. run the script), the new account tries to load, just as what normally happens when you log in to your Gmail account - your account name shows and the login bar moves across the page, but stalls out right at the end, even though the page says "Done" in the status bar. It eventually times out and another page prompts you to try reloading, at which you get the following error message: "We're sorry. It seems there is a problem. Please try using Gmail with a supported browser. If you're encountering this error while using a supported browser, we suggest alerting your Internet Service Provider (ISP) that a proxy is failing to accept cookies on HTTP redirects. Click here to return to Gmail. You'll need to sign in to your account again." When you return to the Gmail login page, that's when you get the error Eon mentioned, and you then have to clear your cookies and start all over. |

Hmm.. I am switching between 3 accounts as well.. 2 of those accounts I use in Docs, Cal & Voice. But I am typically just back and forth in Mail. I have signed out of chat in both accounts just to see if maybe it is reading a double login and kicking me out, but that has not helped. If you restart FF you can then switch back to the other account no problem I believe. The first switch it works fine, the switch back to the account I use most is where it fails. Mine most of the time actually loads the full mail client messages and all then I see the progress bar at about 90% start to reload back to back very quickly then it gives me the error. It may take longer for the script to run, but can it perform a logout and then a login? I think I need to go back to FF 3.5.. |

OS X Firefox 3.6 i get an error similar to the one above:
Here is the kicker....
What ever you need to debug this problem let me know!
This is a script I CANNOT LIVE WITH OUT! :> |

Recently I received this pop-up alert as well when this happened. You have been signed out of this account. This may have happened automatically because another user signed in from the same browser. To continue using this account, you will need to sign in again. This is done to protect your account and to ensure the privacy of your information. At the point this popped up it also started the previously mentioned error.. --Digideth-- You have not had any issues with it working in Windows? What add-ons are you running? I thought that might be an issue, I just have not tried eliminating them one by one to see if it helps or not. Thanks Jarett for the work on this script, it is great when FF of Google doesn't mess with stuff. |

Well I jinxed myself Eon.... :( :( :( :( :( :( About an hour after my post last night it started popping up that window. Now it doesn't happen every time like on OS X. With the pc its completely random. But once it happens it will continue popping up the error window until I sign out and restart firefox. After that it goes back to randomly working. Weird Weird Weird..... Like I said before I cannot live without this script so if you need help in any way just holler.

oh i just had a thought. I use a add-on called gmail manager. If I remember correctly the developer was having this same problem. I think he had to add a delay to his add-on so a cookie was properly set so it wouldn't log you out instantly. here is a link to his forum for the add-on:
tmlong is the developer I am sure if you messaged him he would help. There is just to many pages to search through to find his post about that problem. |

Any movement on this item? |

had to uninstall the script due to this. i'm pretty sure it happened with versions prior to ff 3.6 but the issue was much less frequent. on 3.6 it was happening almost every time. after the redirect error one has to clear cookies in order to ble able to login, or i've also noticed it fixes itself if you try to login after a few hours (offending cookie expires or something)? |

johnty: In the URL field, you'll notice it says passive=true; set this to false and it should let you log in again without clearing your cookies. It worked for me, at least. This plugin shows a lot of promise, so I hope the author gets these issues sorted out. |

thanks tdlm, worked like a charm! i actually removed the whole passive= parameter but it did work. perhaps if this is incorporated in the script the issues will go away? |

johnty: I would incorporate the fix into the script, but I still can't reproduce the issue. Next time it happens, can you message me the URL that needs to be changed? Thanks! |

https://www.google.com/accounts/ServiceLogin?se... That is the link it uses to reload with when this error occurs. It will take you to the login page if you make the change mentioned above. If you do not load with that url it will not go to google at all without removing the cookies. Hope that helps. |

Hello. I'm having the same trouble in FF 3.6.2. The switch will login the second account, but then I immediately get booted and see this box: You have been signed out of this account. This may have happened automatically because another user signed in from the same browser. To continue using this account, you will need to sign in again. This is done to protect your account and to ensure the privacy of your information. As with the others, cookies must be cleared to proceed. FF says: The page isn't redirecting properly
Has anyone found a way? Thanks! |

There is not a permanent fix yet, but doing what tdlm says will let you reload your gmail without having to restart or clear your cookies. THat's the only way I have seen that will get you back to going. |
