Bug in URL expansion

I have noticed that quite a few links get expanded into greateducation.co.uk instead of what they should really expand to. This tweet is an example http://twitter.com/cyanogen/status/7109989834 second link should go to XDA forums. |

Oh, I get this too. I thought it was just me. It usually seems to be bit.ly links. |

Good to know I'm not alone. More chances Troy will work on this :) I just got that again :( |

I saw this happen when I included extra characters, such as a dot or closing parenthesis after the link. I usually try to put a space after the link now but yeah, the script could be doing a better job, for when other people do this. |

Yes, best to leave a space after links. You'll notice that Twitter thinks that paren is part of the link. Clicking it Bitly discards the ). I send that same URL to Bitly API and I believe it returns an invalid link. I'll look into this, but I'm not sure what it will take to fix. |

This should now be fixed in 11.1 |
