The list of chat friends and notifications window will not stay open with fixer enabled. If I disable fixer it functions like normal...

I have this problem (with Notifications) too. But only on the Home Page of Facebook. On any other page, the Notifications window stays open.

Same problem here. Notifications and Chat don't stay open on either the homepage, nor the profile page ...

Feature Requests:
On the profile page, the left panel with picture, friends, etc should stay also like the filterlist on the homepage.

Pictures:
Automatically load all thumbnails of all albums. (Don't know if this is possible ...

Great script, works wonderful. The only reason for me not to switch to Chrome is Greasemonkey and Facebook Fixer!

There is more content below the picture and stuff that you would not be able to see if that section was in a fixed position.

And if you make the whole row sticky?

Vaughan, I noticed that for me this bug occurs after I scroll down the homepage far enough to make it load more content. Upon initially going to the homepage it works fine.

Just putting an update to say I haven't forgotten about this and I'll be working on it for the next release.

I'll see if I can think up an intuitive way to implement fixed positioning for the info in the user profile.

Loading all albums' thumbnails may come in a future release, but for now I still have to get loading all tagged photos working again.

@KoopaOne: You should be able to use this script in Chrome. I believe you'll need either version 3 or 4 and you'll have to add "--enable-user-scripts" to the command used to start Chrome. Check out this page for instructions. I was actually using Facebook Fixer in Chromium for a while, which is pretty much the same thing as Chrome. The only drawbacks in Chrome/Chromium are that the settings have to get stored in cookies, and I don't think the automatic updater is working yet.

btw, I'm still not actually experiencing the problem where the chat list or notifications disappear, so if anybody who is experiencing it can figure out why, please let me know.

The boxes are actually closing right? (and it's not just a bug making the page refresh or something)

@Vaughan:
The Script works wonderful under Chrome (Dev Channel). I don't know yet, if the Update Notifications works, because there hasn't been one yet :)

The Problem doesn't occur under Chrome btw ...

I found a temporary solution for chat list to be visible...
Go to inbox and open it (it should be ok for now)
Then go to options and check the "keep the chat window opened" and thats it!!! :D

I just tried it and working fine... strange is that after that even the notifications stay open...

OK, I finally experienced the problem so I was able to debug it.

It was caused by the code that automatically clicks on 'read more' links. More specifically it was caused by an oversight I made which resulted in each link getting clicked on repeatedly. Facebook detects those clicks as being outside the notification and chat popups and closes them. That explains why DoSMaN's suggestion to "keep the chat window open" solved the problem for the chat popup (I have do idea if/why it might impact the notifications popup).

I have updated the code for the next release, until then you can disable the ability to automatically click on 'read more' links.

One thing to note: Even with the fix in the next release, when the script legitimately clicks on a 'read more' link the notifications box will close. This cannot be helped since the click is required for the feature to work. But it will only happen in situations where the 'read more' links are added automatically to the page, such as when the live feed updates or if you scroll to the bottom of a feed/wall and older posts are automatically loaded. If these "rare" occurrences bother you, you'll need to keep this feature disabled.

I have released a test version which should fix this problem. Let me know.

Vaughan, you're awesome.

(I signed up just to say that.)

Also, the test version seems to be working perfectly. Thanks a lot.
