I yould love if this script worked on chromium/chrome... I already use othe scripts on those browsers without any problem, but this one is my favorite, please.

Not chrome, I'm sorry. It's just too shitty to script on, like IE.

Has anything changed since http://blog.chromium.org/2010/02/40000-more-ext... ?

Your script is the only reason I switch back to Firefox every now and then. To browser YouTube the proper way. But I very much prefer Chrome over Firefox for everything else because of speed.

please give it a go. i'm not a developer and i know its asking for too much. but honestly, this is prolly the only userscript which i REALLY like. it would be great if u could add this functionality.

Rather than make that blanket statement why don't you actually post what you did for interopability. :P

Yeah here is a multi-browser compatible version: http://gmconfig.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/youtube_auto_buffer.user.js(since Joe's script is now cross-browser this script has been removed)

I tested it in Firefox, Opera, Chrome, Safari, and Midori.

In Chrome make sure you uninstall any old version you may have before installing the script above, like so

I just tried Chrome 4.1.249.10654 (45376), on Windows Vista, with no previous extensions installed.

I browsed to

http://gmconfig.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/youtub...

and clicked the Continue button and the extension installed, but the options button was disabled. Is this correct? Also I saw no effect on YouTube videos (they still autoplay), no Autobuffer options as I see with Joe's script in Firefox and Opera.

I then uninstalled the script and reinstalled it but that had no effect.

I used http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wBgVDAdGirs to test the autoplay.

Don't install that script. I don't keep it up-to-date. Joe's script is now compatible with Chrome.

It is not working with chrome. Would you care to make your script public so it can be used once again?

My script was old and would likely have way more problems than Joe's version.

@sizzlemctwizzle
Joe's litterally shows up on chrome the very first time i do a fresh install of my os and browser. And the button actually shows up on the first youtube page I visit directly after install. But if i refresh or change the page the button vanishes. I can not figure out any rhyme or reason why it does this.

So what's the deal with this script working perfectly on Chrome, but after restarting the browser once the button disappears???

I figured out that if you install tampermonkey on Chrome it works perfectly! Just uninstall the script and reinstall it after you add tampermonkey. ;)
