thanks for your script! i see an earlier thread says it can only watch 400 friends (first 400 in alpha order by first name), which makes it not as useful for me as i had hoped, but it's still a nifty tool.

my actual quest is to find a way to back up my friends list, since i discover that periodically FB drops one of my friends without either of us having requested un-friending. and since FB appears to believe that letting me have a list of my friends is somehow a violation of privacy, it looks like they're not going to make that easy anytime soon.

i'm thinking that since the string you're storing (visible in about:config) contains all the pieces of data i would want about anyone -- i'd be fine with just name and profile URL -- you must have nearly all the pieces i would need to write a script to scrape _all_ friends, not just ones that have changed?

can you tell me anything more about what i'd need? i'm particularly wondering how it is that your script has been limited to reading 400 records -- what's going on there?

thanks.

Well that was the case, but this was fixed as of 29th August. See the About page for details of fixes.

Well that should be picked up by this script.

You can't see your own friends list?

Well yeah, all of the pieces are there.

not just ones that have changed?

I don't know what you mean by that. This script does store all friends, and never checks for any friends who have changed.

Well as I said, everything you would want is here and this is clearly not limited to 400 friends (I don't understand why you read an old topic that has since been fixed but not newer ones where it is clear that this does now work for people with >400 friends).
