IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT – MWAP CODE that is “NOT” MWAP

When we have a ZyngaWars phase we find there are a lot of people out there on the internet that “produce” a similar script that looks and feels like MWAP.

At MafiaWarsPlayer.org we love the spirit and ethics of Open Source software. Many of us, including myself, have been an active part of the Open Source community for a number of years.

Open Source is about developing code and allowing that code to be freely distributed. We currently do not distribute any of our code under Open Source licence. Consequently the code is free to anybody to enhance, change and modify. Under an OS licence, the same would remain, but with further restriction.

One of the main elements of OS is:

“The license shall not require a royalty or other fee for such sale.”

The reason for this post is simple.

There are many out there claiming what they have written is their work and they make no reference to the hard work the DEVELOPMENT team at MafiaWarsPlayer.org make in order to bring to our end users the best possible script to enhance the playing experience of Mafia Wars.

Those that take advantage...

What we do not like and frown upon are those so called “developers” that blatantly take the MWAP code and claim as their own without any reference or credit back to our developers.

This goes against everything that Open Source stands for and is blatantly against the ethical spirit and high standards that our team aspire to.

Such people can and do have ulterior motives for doing so. One of which could be writing into the script malicious “hidden” code that could possibly compromise security on your computer.

Whilst we can’t stop these people and do not have the means or responsibility to do so, we encourage all of our loyal users to think twice before downloading MWAP type code that is an obvious copy.

Spotting the differance..

In the main this is simple to spot. If the script looks and feels like MWAP but you have not downloaded it from our official links, then it is not MWAP and you could run the risk of compromising security on your computer.

The majority of people on the internet are law abiding and decent, however, there are those that wish to take advantage of other people’s hard work and in doing so can compromise a users experience in a malice and unethical way.

You can be rest assured this is NOT the case with the team at MafiaWarsPlayer.org and we value our users above everything else.

After all, it is you that makes our site and the MWAP script what it is.

Think Twice...

So, in essence, be careful and think twice when you are considering downloading ANY scripts from the internet. Common sense is the best approach, if it does not feel right, move on.

OMG, he is even too immature to understand sarcasm.. what a dickhead.

Well I don't understand why Majed is being attacked by all of you while he has stated on his code description that he has made some change on the original script ans he has the original script link on his page too so I don't think he deserves all this criticism.

Anyway, I have just one remark to Majed, I think you should go to the original code developers and offer them you help, I've seen in their forum that they are recruiting volunteer workers so I think you can be one of them.

What you people don't get is.. Majed COPIED the WHOLE script including the UPDATE from the MWAP site.. then posted it here claiming HE made the changes.. be it temporary fix or otherwise. The only thing he changed on that script was INCLUDE his name. He STOLE the WHOLE script. He didn't make any changes himself and yet claims that HE is the one that came up with the fix.. or any fixes for that matter.! He is in not affiliated with MWAP and won't even ask to be part of the team.. because he refuses to

1. Be a team player
2. Is utterly incapable of making or creating scripts himself.

Only MWAP are those able to confirm / deny the fact that Majed has stolen the update and put it on the original code or not

or maybe Majed will do some changes and post a personalized MWAP and suggest it to MWAP team and he will have his name added to them

hopefully coders will be bringing us a good script (unfortunately I don't have time to code instead of my projects or I would be voluntary helping MWAP team
