Thanks a million, Redphoenix! The script is reborn, and working flawlessly again! You are a genius!

Thank you, thank you, thank you! The script works again!
Apparently though the ***holes from google managed to work out another trick precluding the possibility of seeing all AVAILABLE pages. Changing IP and clearing the cookies no longer works. You still get the information about reaching the page-limit. :(

Hi all,

I desesperately need this book: http://books.google.fr/books?id=q4QwNP_K1pYC&pr...

I tried to download it with the new vesion of Google Book Downloader v2.0.1, at first glance it seems to work fine (the script shows a pop-up saying "Done") but unfortunately, it doesn't work: there are only 3 PNG files in the Firefox cache... :-( (NB: I use the FF extension "Cache Viewer" to get the PNG files in the Firefox cache).

Was I mistaken somewhere?
Could anyone help me?

Thanks in advance for your help, I will be forever grateful.

Cheers
Antonella

OK, I know little about using the cache viewer, so here's my method, which works fine apart from the aforementioned new problem with google blocking the books. Assuming that you have the downloader already installed this is what I would do myself:
1. install DownThemAll
2. after 'downloading' a book with the google downloader go to 'Tools', DownThemALl.
3. in the 'Links' list, under the 'description' find things like PA1.png, PA2.png etc - these are your pages.
4. it would help to have the renaming mask changed to *text* - that way the downloaded files are actually named as above (PA1, PA2 etc - in 99% of cases corresponding exactly with the page number)
5. select all these files
6. set your destination folder
7. download
Unfortunately you'll be able to actually download only a small portion of the PA files. Some time before all you had to do was simply change the IP (provided that you had dynamic) and clear the cookies and you were ready to go for another round. The download manager of DownThemAll actually remembers all the data necessary for files which failed to download (their urls and their destination on your hardrive), so after the IP/cookie magic all it took was to renew the failed downloads. Of course the whole cycle had to be repeated many times until you actually could get all that's available from google. Nowadays however something has changed. After downloading about half of the book nothing works any longer; strangest thing, I actually tried to read one book on a different computer in a different location, and the pages which I couldn't download so far were still shown as blocked.
Hope this was of some help.

Hi ifikrates,

I tried your solution but unfortunately that doesn't work :-(
Would anyone be so kind as to tell me whether this book can be downloaded or not ?

Many thanks,
Cheers

OK, this may be stupid, but still worth a try.
I attempted to download the book using the url from the french google (http://books.google.fr/books?id=q4QwNP_K1pYC&pr..) and could download only four pages. Not good. When I changed to the 'standard' google (http://books.google.com/books?id=q4QwNP_K1pYC&p...) - note the books.google.COM instead of .fr, it started downloading without any problems.
It might happen that the process of downloading pages (i.e. the part you actually do with the downloader) stops halfway (e.g. 250 pages out of 500). Obviously you have to repeat the whole process starting from page 251.

Ifikrates, I sent you a PM.
