looks like the left hand align and other enhancements need to be revised based upon the latest facebook changes.

I'm going to wait a day or two before releasing an update, so I can catch all of Facebook's changes. Please report all broken features here.

From what I can tell, and from a post I found online, everything that was in the highlights section is now in the newsfeed (The livefeed is the old newsfeed). My sole reason for using this script was to remove the highlights section - according to my blog post about this script, nearly 14,000 people agree with me.

I now see when people are tagged in photos (both the livefeed & newsfeed), when they friend someone, events people are attending, and pictures my friends commented on. None of which I have any desire to see and had the ability to block when it wasn't mashed into my news/live feeds. Facebook still only gives the option to completely remove people, not activities.

Hopefully facebook will put things back the way they was...
There has been a group created for users to voice their dislike of these most recent changes.
It reached over 100,000 members in its first 24 hours.

I for one don't care to see who my friends are now friends with in the live feed, and the news feed is not in chronological order anymore.

Join this facebok group and have all of your friends join too so maybe our opinion will be heard!!

Personally, I have no problem with the new live feed. I'm glad that they have an auto-updating feed again and seeing when people get tagged or add new friends kinda seems like exactly what the feed should be showing.

But Facebook does not revert its updates, so even though thats how I feel I will be adding options to Facebook Fixer for hiding various types of items in the live feed. Hopefully that will help a lot of people out.

Regarding the news feed not being in chronological order... its happening to me too, and seems quite senseless. I noticed it happening fairly often in the days before this change, so hopefully its just a bug they're still working on.

I like the new Live Feed and I'm happy with the new facebook changes. They're not nearly as drastic as the switch from the old facebook to the new. Either way, I think it's great that while some may like the changes, and some may not, we have Facebook Fixer to make it look the way that's pleasing to every user.

As for the News Feed not being in chronological order, according to the facebook Blog, Raylene Yung (facebook engineer) said, "News Feed picks stories that we think you'll enjoy based on a variety of factors including how many friends have liked and commented on it and how likely you are to interact with that story."

Well I for one don't want it picking and choosing for me. I want to see everything that is going on in chronological order and then I decide on what interests me or not. What if facebook's choices suck and it don't show me something that I am interested in?!!! IMO, THE NEW LAYOUT SUCKS!!!!

The group pages have changed also. They look like a profile page now and show updates differently. I know groups aren't in the your script just thought I'd ask if it might something you could consider adding to facebook fixer. Thanks

Suggestions are back, "Facebook | " in the page title is back. I know you need some time to update facebook fixer, but I hope it will soon let me get rid of Suggestions again, because those are annoying. Thanks for writing this script, its the entire reason I installed greasemonkey!

@Blarney, the script should still be removing "Facebook |" from the title. If you have that option checked and its not working then it might be that the script is failing due to an unrelated change by Facebook. You could try enabling/disabling other options and see if it has an effect on the title. I'll also see if I can figure out why it might be happening.

@adawah, if you want me to add something related to groups you could post on the Suggestions for improvements thread and let me know exactly what you want.

As a side note, I'm working on the script now (mostly just the stuff that Facebook broke this week) and however far I reach I'll be putting up a new beta later today.

Oh Blarney, you can also go to Tools > Error Console, and look for messages from Facebook Fixer with "Error!" in them. That line might help me narrow down where your problem is being caused.

I have put up a test version here: http://www.code-poet.net/userscripts/beta.html

Among the changes are the ability to hide certain types of stories in the live feed (only in the live feed): event, fan, friend (when friends make new friends), group and tag. Each type can be hidden independently. Let me know if more types should be hidden.

That cleaned things up a bit. But I'm still seeing event info. So far, everything else seems to work.

Cannot hide the "Suggestions" box in the latest beta version 1.9a - 20091026 - 10000006370232. The fix is to change the code at line 1719 to:

if (!prefs['HomePeopleYouMayKnow']) { style = style + ' #home_sidebar #pymk_hp_box { display:none; }'; }

@jen3ral, Are you still seeing event info? I'm not getting any problem with that feature, so double check that the script is configured to hide events in the live feed (remember its only for the live feed) and if you're still getting a problem let me know and we can troubleshoot it.

@jsb, Thanks, I've updated the CSS.

Yep, still seeing it, http://jen3ral.wordpress.com/files/2009/10/fbev.... I double checked my settings and it says to hide it. Something I also noticed is that the more link under the filters on the left is broken with the script enabled. I put the status updates filter up top, but with the script enabled that disappears and breaks the more link.
