HQ selection

So, recently I've found that one or more of the quality selectors in the dropdown will be purple and say (request error). Now I assume that this is because the format has been removed from youtube or maybe it's a replacement for the not available error? So far for a while it has been there for the M-PEG 4 H.264 choice. Any reason why this may be? Also, is the HQ .flv format better than HQ (not HD) MP4? If so, then it's no problem for me.

If I clear the error console, turn off greasemonkey, and reload, they don't show up. Anyways, playlists are probably going to become shit anyways, as the new channel design plays them right there. Ask me if you're don't know how to open playlists the old way. |

Same here, lots of (request error)s in purple. |

YouTube has made a change. It has broken the script's function that checks if a video format is available. I'm know where the error is, so I'll probably upload a new version today or tomorrow to fix it. Thanks for reporting |

So is there any reason to worry about the errors I'm getting? And back to my other question, is the HQ mp4 or HQ flv format better? |

HQ FLV is better. I'll check playlist autoplay again, but I haven't had any problem with it. That warning you saw in the error console is caused by YouTube code, as you can see in source line, so it's not a script problem. |

Um, you're kidding right? HQ MP4 is better - that's the 720p HD format! Mindeye, you're thinking of "MP4" which youtube calls an HQ format (though it's not really THAT high quality, but it was when it launched) You really gotta rename these formats ya know, to make it more obvious what format's better than the others. The most obvious is to rename MP4 HQ to "MP4 HD". You also may want to rename standard FLV to "FLV LQ" or something. That'll give an LQ, [nothing AKA normal], HQ, and HD - then it should be obvious what formats are better than the others. |

Ooops, sorry, you're right, I'd read it wrong. :-) |

Actually, I think mindeye is right. I was comparing the flv HQ to the standard MP4 (HQ), not the high quality MP4 (HD). I know that the HD MP4 is the best quality, but sometimes things load slow with it on that look ok with the flv (HQ) or MP4 (HQ), but I was wondering which of those two are better.
