Really nice script :).

I intended to make the existing 'envelope' button visible for this purpose (it is actually present on Galaxy view page, set to be invisible, though).
But your solution is more elegant.

Hmm, maybe making the envelope visible is a better solution. Remember - it shows whether you have new messages, while my current script does not. The button on the Alliance button could then do something else - e.g., go to the part where you can send a circular message to your alliance.

I really like seeing number of messages in galaxy view.
