Hi Yah,
.
Below is a list of hosts and links I have been seeing a lot of lately. I was wondering if they could be added to the next iteration of TCLC please?
.
I've listed them alphabetically, not in priority order. :-)
.
To be clear, this list has been written after today's update.
.
I've also included a few that I know are in your list of hosts, which still give me no results, as though they aren't being checked at all. For the record, I have all hosts enabled (including any new ones in this release), except MU and RS, which as you know are being checked by RS Link checker's servers. :)

Also... Megavideo link handling idea:
.
Megavideo have been having intermittent problems with converting AVI files to streaming recently, causing long delays before files are finally converted. I was wondering whether it would be possible to distinguish (with different colours?) between
.
- a removed link such as this one:
http://www.megavideo.com/?v=PNPI7LMC
http://www.megavideo.com/?infr
.
- and a converting link such as this one:
http://www.megavideo.com/?v=QEHCGY18
http://www.megavideo.com/?converting
.
- or even an "unavailable" link like this one (which might be working by the time you see it, but hopefully you'll see what I do):
http://www.megavideo.com/?d=W6EUE721
http://www.megavideo.com/?unavailable
.
Here's a couple of working links in case you need them for comparison:
http://www.megavideo.com/?v=R2919RBW
or
http://www.megavideo.com/?v=31WNZR80
.
If this is possible, it would be very helpful because at the moment whenever I come across a red megavideo link, I still have to click to find out whether it's really a dead link, which slows down the link checking process substantially.
.
Thanks Yah! :-)

CP,

WOW! Now that's a list of filehosts! Really, I've never seen anyone bring me such an outstanding list. I can't promise I'll be able to add them all, but I can assure you that I will examine them all for performance/reliability.
..
I'll probably add them as I can. I post updates to the script on a pretty regular basis now. I make changes and post them to the Test Script here: http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/43375. Then, after a large group of changes has been made to the test script, I'll roll the code over to the real script.
..
I owe you. Your site is a one-stop treasure trove of TV episodes. Keep up the great work and I'll try to keep up with the filehost requests.

lol I thought I might cause you to choke on your coffee when you saw that list. In the past I have thought of doing this but didn't want to overwhelm you.
.
I have been doing loads of intensive link checking recently so I'm starting to see patterns in how the checker is functioning and lots of regular hosts as well, as you can see. I just copied and pasted them in as I was checking things this morning.
..
So, any thoughts on the Megavideo thing?
.
Thanks for anything you are able to do with the list. If I see other hosts I will come back and edit the list.

I am not sure if that would be of any help regarding the MegaVideo problem, but from what i have noticed, once you get to download or view a video, then even if you are checking MegaVideo links, those would show up as dead for almost 2 hours after that...

I'd say that it doesn't really work, because the converting links aren't actually functioning/working links yet - what I was hoping was that the converting links could show up as a different colour, such as yellow - this way we can see that they aren't dead, but they aren't working either. Hope this makes sense.
.
btw the file listed above as converting is now converted, so here's another few that are still waiting to convert:

Just a quick note - the www.netload links are now being checked, but now the ones without the www aren't giving any results.

In case you didn't notice - there was a third redirector. ;)

Hello yah,
Having no intention to take advantage of your kindness, i would like to ask you to consider adding one more host, not that you don't have enough on your hands at the moment, but i keep running into it a lot lately..
Sendfile.to

It would be great if you squeeze it somewhere in the future updates..
Thank you for your time.

CP, Twinkle,
..
Thanks for all the info. The Test Version is complete right now and it covers the issues/requests. Beware that on and off, the test version may not function completely as expected. I generally save it as I meet certain goals, but it might also break a few past features temporarily. I guess that's why they call it a test.
..
...........Not adding these hosts..................
* cinshare.com: It always pops up an annoying, phishy dialog for each link.
* filesend.net: No live links that I can locate.
* flyupload.com: Seems to operate in beta mode or force you through redirects
* milledrive.com: Very, very slow performance
* share-now.net: No valid links. No response.
* sms4file: No free downloads. Pay downloads only.
* up-file.com: No free downloads.
..
...........These issues were addressed..................
* Added all well-behaving/performing filehosts.
* Speed improvement
* Added redirectors: seriousfiles.com, thatsprime.com, sn.im, adf.ly
* Added (multi-upload,netfolder,megavideo,filebox,hotfile,rapidfolder) folders as yellow
* Fixed the badongo, netload.in, ZSHare problems in the test script also.
..
Don't forget to download the test version and enable all the new hosts!!! http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/43375.

Both forms of Netload link are now working, thank you Yah. :)
.
Oddly though, Megaupload now appears to be checking despite my having it disabled.
.
Test script code:
.
hosts.push (["megaupload.com",
/http:\/\/(www\.)*megaupload\.com/gi,
/\/gui\/c_dnl\.gif|gui\/c_dnl\.swf|gui\/h\_folders\.gif|name\=\"imagestring\"|but_dnld_file_o.gif|uploaded with File Uploader/gi,
"",
""
]);
.
Main script code:
.
hosts.push (["megaupload.com",
/HTTP:\/\/MEGAUPLOAD\.COM|HTTP:\/\/WWW\.MEGAUPLOAD\.COM/gi,
/\/gui\/c_dnl\.gif|gui\/c_dnl\.swf|gui\/h\_folders\.gif|name\=\"imagestring\"|but_dnld_file_o.gif|uploaded with File Uploader/gi,
""
]);
.
Code in my local test script:
.
hosts.push (["megaupload.com",
/http:\/\/(www\.)*megaupload\.com/gi,
/\/gui\/c_dnl\.gif|gui\/c_dnl\.swf|gui\/h\_folders\.gif|name\=\"imagestring\"|but_dnld_file_o.gif|uploaded with File Uploader/gi,
"",
""
]);
.
The only main difference I can see is the upper/lower case... oh, and in line two there seems to be more in the main script than in the test script.
.
cheers,

The slight change in the 2nd line is a more elegant way to state the regular expression match string for the filehost. As far as I can tell, it's not checking MU when the host is disabled. the (www\.)* addition is just a way of making "www." optional when performing a match. The original code did this by explicitly listing two optional matches. The new match is just more efficient.
..
Please let me know what makes you believe MU is being checked. Is it showing green/red? Is a download being initiated behind the scenes? MU is a particularly tricky site.
..
Thanks for the note,
yah.

The links were showing up green, which alerted me straight away. To be honest, I didn't keep the browser open long enough to find out if downloads started in the background as I am short on bandwidth at the moment and wanted to protect what I have left. ;)
.
Is it at all possible that they could be colouring without actually being checked?

CP,

Can you post the MU links that were showing green for you? I cannot find ANY that do this and I've pulled up a lot of posts. It makes me think there might be a hole in one of the regular expression match strings that those particular links are hitting on. I'll investigate them when you give them. Any misbehaving MU links would be great.
..
Thanks,
yah.

I changed the screen cap from html img src to a direct link so you can click to see it.
.
Turned off Rapidshare Link Checker as requested and now the links aren't highlighting. RS Link Checker doesn't usually highlight the links (it just puts the check mark or x at the end of the link, and with CLC turned off it still works the same way as it always has, not highlighting), so could there be some sort of strange interaction going on between the scripts?
.
Oh, and total oversight on my part, but I just noticed the same thing is happening to RS links as well.

CP,
..
It is not only possible that TCLC and RS checkers conflict, it is almost assured. Apparently, one of the styles that RS link checker uses is causing a conflict now with this script. As the test version of the script matures there may be a solution to the conflict. I have never advocated using both scripts, though I was happy they did not necessarily conflict. With the increasing changes this script is going through and the amount of new features, it may not be possible to allow two link checkers to run together.
..
Each link checker does something to the links on the screen. The changes are mainly behind the scenes: (style, id, a href, etc). As this script grows, it becomes more likely it will interfere with another link checker or be interfered with by another link checker. A time will be reached when the recommendation will have to be made NOT to run any other link checker in concert with this one.
..
I will look into the problem. But please review your need to run both checkers. You might also look at the order the scripts get executed in your GM management screen. Reversing the order might solve the problem quickly.

Yah,
.
By jove, I think you've got it! I just dragged TCLC to the top of my script list (didn't know I could do that, thanks for teaching me something new!), and interestingly loads of different link types now don't colour-highlight. If I didn't know better, I'd be assuming that RS Link checker was checking these links because of the way they are now presented. I've screen-capped some of them from this page so you can see what I mean:
.
http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii22/DS004/l...
.
In terms of running both link checkers, I have no choice because I can't function with random downloads occurring in the background, because of the MU DDL glitch. It is essential for me to be able to run both scripts in order to check MU at all. Hopefully that makes sense.
.
In the end, I'm happy to live with the highlighting on MU and RS, as long as I know for sure that the checking is in fact being done by The Other Script. If it's just a presentation issue, it doesn't matter, I just need to keep my bandwidth for real downloading.
.
Thanks once again Yah, you're a true hero. :D
