Multi login worked, now doesn't

GeminiAlpha: There's a bug with adding and removing accounts. I'll update the script as soon as I get it fixed; it could be a problem related to yours, so just sit tight. mhazzard: I scrape the GALX value from the login page, since there's no way to guess what the value will be. You can get a valid value whether the user is logged in or logged out. The lines you're looking for in the source are around 109-130. Note that the url for the login page is different if it's a Google Apps account, and the GALX value will be unique to each Google Apps domain. |

Alright, updated again. I hope this is the last time. |

Thank for all the work Jarett! After starting FF I immediately got the message about the new script. I installed it right away. The new script is partly working ok. I've to do more testing to create a report about what's ok and what goes wrong and in which sequence. Just 2 remarks for now: Once in a while: 1. I land on a Google page which says "server error" 2. The additional drop down box from your script is vanished.

Hm. I'm not sure about the "server error" message; I doubt it would be coming from my script. Is it possible that you have some other Greasemonkey script and/or Firefox extensions that are interfering with my script? You might want to try disabling other Gmail or Google scripts and extensions to see if that helps. |

Hmm, I'm using this with GreaseKit on Safari and Snow Leopard and it's not working. I still have the signout in the upper right in gmail and it is installed in Greasekit. Any ideas? |

Golf11: I have no idea. Unfortunately, you're on your own there; it's hard enough to support the standard Firefox/Greasemonkey platform, and I don't have a Mac to test on anyway. |

Gmail login form was changed again (yesterday). I sent mail to Jarett about "how to continue". I continue to offer my help.
|
![]() ![]() |
GeminiAlpha: I don't see anything that's different in the form. The login script is still working for me. What do you see that changed? |
![]() ![]() |
If you PM me a mailadress (you have mine) I'll send you 3 logged Gmail forms from the last 2 weeks. Your script has stopped working (again) on my system; The little pulldown menu is not showed after starting up Gmail. |

I just got an update and installed it. logging in Gmail I got the pulldown menu, switching to another account succeeded, but I didn't get back the pulldown menu.
Edit: I'm away this weekend, so no feedback until monday. Bye. |

Today another change of the Gmail login form.
|
![]() ![]() |
This is such a good script! Please keep ahead of the game for us. I've had the same problems with logon described by others. After the October 6 update it worked again for a few days, then stopped again. As of today, I don't get the dropdown, except sometimes if I reload the page, and selecting a different account gives me a screen with my previous sign-on with prompt for the password. Thank you so much for all of your work! |

GeminiAlpha: You keep saying that the login form is different, but you're not telling me HOW it's different. It looks the same to me every time. You're going to have to give me more details if you want me to be able to help. Jaem: Do you have any other extensions and/or userscripts, especially ones for Gmail? Some people have said that they can interfere with the script. Also, does it work 100% of the time on pages that aren't Gmail (Google homepage, Google Reader, etc.)? EDIT: Google does tend to roll out changes to their services gradually; there are often slight differences in the Javascript and page layout between what different users see when logged in. There might be a change that I just can't see yet. |

Hi, Yes I have other google greasemonkey services: "inline google player", "google docs download", "gmail unread message count in favicon", and "folders4gmail". I would happily uninstall any or all of them to retain the functionality of the multilogon script! And in Firefox, I have installed "better gmail" from Lifehacker. The thing is, it worked for a long time, no problems, and then stopped working at the same time it stopped for other people, and that's where it is now, after a e days of no problems. One again, thank you! Your work makes mine much easier and I appreciate it! |

Jaem: Try disabling the other userscripts and/or Better Gmail and see if it starts working again. If that fixes it, just re-enable them one by one until you know which one was causing the problem. GeminiAlpha: Why didn't you just paste the source of the form into a message? |
![]() ![]() |
I tried to paste it here; it becomes completely unreadable, because it's script code; cr and lf's disappear. Beside this, the textfiles are about 20 k each. Unacceptable big and massive for a board like this. |
![]() ![]() |
Alright, I'm PMing you my email address. I have a feeling that I won't find anything of consequence, though; there are tons of slight differences every time you go to the login page, depending on where you came from, if you're already logged in, etc. |
![]() ![]() |
Files sent to Jarett. Hope they are helpful to analyze the problem. A file-compare will show the differences. I told to be willing to continue my help.
|
![]() ![]() |
GeminiAlpha: I looked at the files you sent me, but none of the slight differences between them are consequential. Besides, if the problem you're having now is that the box won't even appear, then it has nothing to do with the login form itself. I really have no idea why it wouldn't be working for you, especially when it seems to be working perfectly for most people. Did you try doing what I told Jaem (disabling other userscripts/Firefox addons)? |
![]() ![]() |
Jared, I disabled everything, restarted, still the same problem, then ininstalled and reinstalled the multi logon but still the same problem. Any help would be much appreciated! Jáem |

GeminiAlpha and Jaem: Do either of you use the "Basic HTML" view in Gmail and/or view Gmail in a different language? |

@Jarett

GeminiAlpha: Could you try setting Gmail to English and see if it worked alright? At least then we'll have narrowed the cause of the problem down a little more. |
