# When not having a cookie, checking Megashares links will always fail. (The site offers some kind of Flash item that you have to get rid of first.

# It just happened to me for the first time that upon visiting a page with quite a number of Megaupload links all were shown as inactive which could hardly have been the case.
I followed one link and got to a notice that said more or less that there has been an unusual amount of requests, likely from 3rd-party software - and it enforced a ban for my IP address, for around 5 minutes. Maybe explore what Megaupload is checking and make your script a little more gentle.

Me, out.

bugmenot2009,
..
This has been discussed extensively before. Effectively, there is no way around the MegaUpload issue when pages contain a ton of links. MU has instituted a policy wherein they no longer want to support free users very much. They are trying to force you to become a premium member by temporarily banning you when you request more than a certain amount of links from them during a short period of time. By a request, they mean just viewing the page where the download is available, which is what the script does. You don't even have to initiate a download.
..
There are only two ways around this: Not requesting the files, and becoming a Premium member. The script would have to delay your requests for many minutes in order for it to become as "gentle" as required to meet your request and not get you temporarily banned.
..
For the MegaShares problem you mention, please post some valid links in a reply that will let us see what you mean. I will do my best to fix this.
..
Thanks,
yah.

I don't know am I the only person facing this weird problem, I happy with the script. But whenever I try to use the script, even after closing the webpage which has links, I see something is being transferred / downloading.

Any help would be appreciated.

prathaprabhu,

This has also been discussed before. To the point where I have added a recommendation on the install page about how to avoid this:
..
Disable any Direct Download options at the file hosting sites you are subscribed to. This prevents any automatic downloads that can kick-off behind the scenes, out of the script's control. If you use Megaupload, you definitely needs to do this.
..
By staying logged into MU, you are caught between a rock and a hard place. You will be able to prevent yourself from being banned, but you will also initiate a download just by visiting a page if any auto-download options are turned on.
..
There is no way around this that anyone has discovered. MU's method of staying logged in is a bit different than any other filehost. I do appreciate the quality of their service, but they are frustrating in their methods.
