Hey guys,

this script is great, with manual blocking and all. I installed the extension on the latest chrome dev. build, but everytime I return to a site (which I had previously blocked ads) those ads appear again. Is there any way I can make adblock+ block it permanently? Or is installing the extension insufficient, and requires some tweaking with the code.

Thanks!

depends on the ads that you blocked. Most ads are dynamically generated... can you maybe give an example?

Hi Afriend,

Like for example the ads in youtube which appear at the top right hand corner, just above the description of the video. I press alt-B and click on the ads I want to block and then a popup shows asking if I want to block this element. I click "ok" and then another popup comes up asking if I would like to prevent this page from creating additional dialogues, I check the box and press ok again. The ads are all removed, but when the page is reloaded, the ads appear again.

Thanks,

Hi Sadded,

yes, that's the damn dynamically generated Google Ads. I guess it's because the ad url is always changing after refreshing the page?!

I read somewhere that we can use wildcards, like
IMG[src="http://*.google-ads.com/ads/*"] but I never tried it out.

Button "Block elements" always used wildcards for images and iframes. Use it.
