Large mafia problem

Sep 17, 2009 11:21pm Rich Jamrosz Script's Author	There is an issue with this script functioning with large mafia sizes. If you have this problem, please revert back to a previous release. The version you would want is 'Sep 12, 2009 09:13' You can find it under 'source code' -> 'previous versions'. If I can get some more information on what exactly is happening, it would help me. What is not showing up from the script that should be there. Is there any 'stock' page elements that aren't showing up. As detailed as possible. @phuck.stic Don't take this as me ignoring the idea for individual pages, I will keep that in mind and take care of it when time is available, but I might be able to fix the current script in a faster amount of time to benefit a larger crowd.

Sep 18, 2009 4:28am Wo Fat User	The issue is not the script but Mafia Wars' gift page can't handle that big of a mafia. The standard gifting doesn't work for them either. Persoanlly when you get over 10K, it's time to re-evaluate your life. but who am I to judge..

Sep 18, 2009 2:52pm elektroda User	Last script from Sep 12 2009 works great. I'm not sure what would be third option as alternative solution if you avoid Gifting page and Lot page? :/ Lot page seams to be best for large mafia size..for now...

Sep 28, 2009 4:34am Rich Jamrosz Script's Author	people w/ this problem please check out http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/58212 also, i was just scripting and ran into something weird, have any of you tried click my 'all' category button. I was playing around with deleting the bottom mafia box to see if I could lower resources and get the page to load faster, and for some reason it hid the loot items. So basically my page looked like what you guys had described, but I was able to go in and manually show them again. The 'all' category button works the same way, so you may be able to view things that way. Let me know!

The only thing is when i first go to the gifting page, it gives me a dialog that says 'Done' 7 times. I sent you a PM regarding this. I clicked on All, and it worked exactly as I expected it to. I tried running both scripts, but the gifting page still freezes up cuz of the huge mafia list. Wondering if maybe removing it first then have the gifter load might make it possible to use newer versions of the script.

Oct 19, 2009 6:10am Rich Jamrosz Script's Author	@Big Pimpin Unfortunately there is no way to tell the web server "don't send me this part of the page", we can only mess with content after it is loaded, as far as I am aware. Getting this script to work w/ accounts like yours has constantly been on my mind. But w/o access to one of those accounts, it is hard for me to research what, if anything, can be done to increase compatibility. If someone would trust me with access to their account for a day, I will be able to figure out if something can be worked out. PM me on here or FB if you can put your trust in me.

Oct 26, 2009 2:46am UncleSim User	What exactly is a 'massive' mafia? Mine is barely 500, and I can load the page, but I can't enter a Recipient. I can choose one in the normal MW list though.

Oct 26, 2009 4:38am Rich Jamrosz Script's Author	@UncleSim Gift page stops loading around 10k mafia or so. You add recipients by going to their MW profile page and there is a link and a textbox toward the top of the page.

Oct 28, 2009 4:41am Rich Jamrosz Script's Author	Could someone that is having this problem post a screenshot of their gifting page? With the recent work in AJAX it is looking more promising that I can get content loaded on your page. I just need to know what loads so I can start building off that.

If you click the gift link it will display the little revolver loading thing that MW has, and it pops up the "We apologize. There was a minor issue while processing your request. Click the Okay button below and please try again." message. If you right-click the gifting page and open in new tab, you see the tab loading symbol and it goes for a few seconds, then the page just loads blank.

Oct 28, 2009 8:11pm Mfhenry User	The Biggest hang up is when you add them to the gifting list and it tries to go to the gifting page thats where mine locks up all of the time on large mafia- so after I select and add them- I cheat and go to spockholms and send one gift as it opens the page then use the gifter - or I stop the switch over and manually go to the gifting page after selecting the person

Oct 28, 2009 11:02pm Rich Jamrosz Script's Author	Ok, I have a script up here that is an attempt to deal with this problem. It replaces the gifting page with a simple interface similar to the gifting table w/o any loot loaded in it. It then does an AJAX call and tries to build new loot tables off of it. It's not the best user interface yet, but I want to see if it fixes the problem before putting work into making it sexy. It worked on my computer, so granted the AJAX response is usable and I can pull tables out of it, it should work for you too.
