I've completely re-written the script for speed - v0.7 is almost twice as fast as v0.6. The new version also fixes the issues reported with filtering, and adds some new features too.

The idea for the IMDB links came from lazytrick's script (http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/26259), although the code is mine and contains several functional improvements over the original. Links are only displayed when IMDB info is present on the torrent, and are displayed whenever IMDB info is present and not just when browsing the Movies category. Links are also more reliable because of better identification of the torrent details link. I did "borrow" lazytrick's regular expression though, so thanks go to him for that.

Thanks for the latest. I like having the IMDB links right out front for the uploads that don't include descriptions. I also like having the hidden items greyed for easy identification when shown.

I'm having a bit of a problem with the hidden words though. They must match exactly, so if I choose to hide "FLAC", all torrents that have that term standing alone are hidden, however a torrent that has the phrase "[LOSSLESS FLAC]" shows. This seems to be because there is no space between the final letter of the hidden word and the bracket which follows. This will also be true if the hidden word is followed or preceded by a hyphen with no space in between. Is there a wildcard that I can use? Asterisk doesn't work. Or maybe you'll address this issue in your next release?

Hi morantz,

I've changed this in v0.7a. In v0.7 it was matching "FLAC " at the beginning of the title, " FLAC " anywhere in the title or " FLAC" at the end of the title. Now it will match "FLAC" anywhere in the title (including in the middle of a longer word).

Nice work. Indeed considerably faster. Thank you.

It's working great now crazysnailboy. Fast too. This script keeps getting better. Sadly, I don't think that mininova itself is as good as it used to be.

Now I'm gonna get nitpicky. Hovering over the IMDB icon displays the "today" page's URL in the status bar rather than the appropriate IMDB URL. As a result, the CoolPreviews Firefox extension displays an incorrect preview. Nitpicky right?

Thanks guys, glad you like it :)

@morantz
lol - yup, that's quite nitpicky! The reason for that is that the script doesn't know what the IMDB URL is until you click the icon and it does an AJAX postback to the torrent details page to get it. Unfortunately I don't think there's a lot I can do about it - the alternative would be to look each URL as the page loads, which would take ages and suck bandwidth...

You're right about mininova, which is a shame. And I think that between the BRIEN lawsuit and the impending demise of the Pirate Bay tracker it's about to get a whole lot worse.

<smug>Fortunately I managed to get myself a Demonoid account :)</smug>

Thanks for considering my last note and replying with such good grace. I guess you'll be devoting more time to your Demonoid script moving forward. Your mention of Demonoid reminded me that I received an invitation way back when. Darned if I can find it in my inbox though. What the heck did I do with that thing? Ah. I found my email reply which referenced the invitation code. I'm saved by a handy and free little search agent called "Everything". That's my software recommendation for today.

Anyway, take care. I'll continue to watch for your latest.

morantz,

I think v0.7b will fix your CoolPreviews issue. The links aren't links until they've been clicked on, so CoolPreviews will ignore them. After they've been clicked on they're normal links with href attributes so CoolPreviews will show the correct page.

Thanks for thinking of me regarding the IMDB CoolPreviews interaction. I see that after I have clicked on the IMDB link the status bar displays the correct address, but either mininova or CoolPreviews has moved on so that I no longer get any CoolPreview action over the IMDB icon. Not a terrible thing. I just click the IMDB icon and a new tab opens in the background.

I think (and thank) every day about how fast this script renders since version .7 came out.
