what is considered the "center" of the map? the center with the left sidebar in place, center without, or auto detected? |

The script detects the coordinates of the centre automatically at the time you click on the link, by calling one of Google Maps' own functions. The result takes into account whether or not the sidebar is in place: you get the centre of the visible map either way. If you experiment, you will see that the co-ordinates jump if you click the link, then change the sidebar, then click it again, even though the map has not been panned. |
