Hi !
Thanks for this amazing script !

May I suggest some reviews ?
Example : http://paste2.org/p/399568

1- With Hotfile links, the green icon appears before a "(".
2- The Hotfile folder are shown in red while the files inside are OK ! Can you, please, add a yellow background for "folder link" like that : http://i25.tinypic.com/2m6n401.png ?
3- The "ul.to" links redirect to "uploaded.to". Can you remove the "Redirector!" logo and check the "uploaded.to" file instead ?

Thanks again !

pihug12,
..
As to your items:
1) The hotfile link with the '(a)' tells me there's a small bug in the linkify routine. I will dig into what's necessary to fix this.
..
2) The hotfile folders showing red are something new. I was unaware that hotfile had any folders. I can set the script to validate that the folder exists, but I cannot set it to check the links inside the folder. A folder could exist with no files inside. I will add this to the to-do list.
..
3) "ul.to" is a re-director site. The script is not setup to handle these. There is an inherent risk in clicking on a redirector. Registered users have had their account credentials snagged. The script will stay as it is to indicate to a user that the link is dangerous. If the script were to resolve the address, it would be hiding the fact your account might have been compromised in the process. No redirectors are supported by the script, nor are there any plans to handle them.
..
Thanks for the input,
yah.

Thanks for the quick answer !

2- I know you can't check all the links inside a folder. That's why I suggest to use a yellow highlight.
Example of folders :
http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=c3319027d794...
http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=fc53344f3898...
http://hotfile.com/list/21540/70c35d2
http://hotfile.com/list/21541/174dc91
http://netfolder.in/G265ZXS/Lost.In.Space.1998....
http://netfolder.in/kAeESfv/Sphere.1998.1080p.B...

3- "ul.to" redirects only to "uploaded.to" links.
http://ul.to/airoos == http://uploaded.to/file/airoos
So, I think there is a way to check these files (by using "ht_p://uploaded.to/file/" for the check instead of "ht_p://ul.to/").

Concerning ul.to: As I stated, ul.to is a potential phishing service harvesting user credentials to uploaded.to. These redirecors use Man-in-the-Middle attacks to steal your passwords. If you want to use these links, that is a personal choice. However, this script has ALWAYS avoided putting users at risk. I know the script CAN resolve the ul.to links, but the decision has been made Not to have it do this.

Script updated to 2.30.

1- isn't fixed. :-(
2- works. You forgot to speak about MediaFire folder in the changelog. Netfolder.in isn't recognized.
Don't you think it's a better idea to use an another color like the yellow for the folder (because the links inside aren't checked) ?
3- I don't understand how ul.to can be used like a phishing service. These URL are only given by uploading a file on http://www.uploaded.to/. There is no other way to create these redirections. Nobody can use it to redirect to a phishing website.
Maybe I don't understand something... :-/

Thanks again for your amazing script.

pihug12,

ul.to IS a redirector so it cannot be supported.
..
All other items should be addressed in the latest Test script 2.62: http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/43375.

Hi !
I just tried the version 2.65.

1- isn't working again. I think it's a Firefox "bug" and you can't do anything about that.
See the 4th link here : http://paste2.org/p/399568.

2- The addresses that begin by "http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=" aren't recognized like a folder. Same thing with NetFolder.in.
Maybe you could use a folder icon instead of the "?". These ones are good : http://www.famfamfam.com/lab/icons/silk/. I think you already used them for the red and green ones.

3- I give it up. =)

I noticed a false positive :
http://www.easy-share.com/1905652030/75Dredg(20...
Maybe a problem in the regex for Easy-Share ?

I fixed the easy-share.com issue. I made a change to the way dead links are matched, placing them before live links. This is actually a better method. The link you provided was matching both a dead and a live link, but since it matched live first, it never allowed the dead style to be assigned. Now dead links are matched first. Thanks.
..
The new version of the Test script (2.66) has the fix for easy-share.com: http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/43375
..
The idea of assigning a folder icon is an attractive idea. I probably will at least assign a folder icon next to the question mark. Since the script only verifies that the folder exists, it cannot really speak for the files that are contained inside. They are still question-able. I really appreciate the link to the icon package. It contains some very nice icons that I might be able to use for much more than just the folder icon. THANKS!!!
