When this script is active, the "XML document view" of Firefox (that shows a raw, indented XML document with a message on the top saying that the document has no schema associated) is no longer possible, as XML documents just get formatted as HTML :|

Thanks for the feedback, sardaukar. If I can fix it, I will, so here's a few questions for you:

-- Can you show me some of the links to the XML files in question? I found a quick sample XML file which displayed fine for me, but it'd be more helpful to see a broken example.
-- Have you tried disabling pre-direction? Set the doConvert variable to false and see if that's the culprit.
