Tagged Artists

This is a great idea and seems to work well for tagged songs, but seems to have issues with tagged artists. I don't listen to many singles and had just tagged various artists rather than songs. When I went to use this script to generate a playlist from tags it would go through and change all of those artists I like to bands like Godsmack and Lynard Skynard, who are artists that I'm not as fond of. :D Anyway, great work on this script. I just thought I'd mention the tagged artist issue. |

Hi rhapsody, I'm glad you like the script! I've been undecided about having a playlist contain artists... mainly because I feel a playlist should have a specific ordering of specific tracks. Having an artist in a playlist would play a random song of that artist, so maybe artists are better suited for tagging? However, Last.fm does not play playlists in the order they appear in the playlist. And so Last.fm's definition of a playlist is probably meant to be different... However, my TODO list tells me that I noticed that tagged artists were skipped, so I'll have to take a look at why an artist is converted to a random track today, and not skipped. So I've updated my TODO list to add support for artists in playlists as well. I am very busy these days, so unfortunately I cannot promise a fix any time soon... |
