Darkblood,
..
I'm not sure I can affect the traffic limit hotfile has set for free downloading. The script just retrieves the first page. It has nothing to do with the amount of bytes transferred beyond the meager transfer the initial page is made of.
..
I must state that I have not used hotfile myself. I included it as a favor to some users and I do not know if they are free or subscribed users. I suspect they subscribed as they have reported no problems.
..
Let me know if you have any more info.

DarkBlood,

It may be something else on your end. All hotfile links are working fine for me as long as I don't exceed the quota they have set.

The links with the asterisk are not valid, non-redirected links. You're account credentials would be in great danger of being hijacked with those links. Please avoid any links like that.

Darkblood,

Send me a good page of these links. I have not been able to duplicate this problem. Are you downloading a file from hotfile.com when you also try to Link Check another page?
..
Let me know,

well, I tested your last version of the script with a clean install firefox (new profile), only with greasemonkey extension and your script, same thing happens.

1) go download a file: http://hotfile.com/dl/7893902/55840ad/winrar.zi...
2) click REGULAR DOWNLOAD (30 seconds delay) and put the correct code for the captcha.
3) now you will going to see "Click here yo download.." and the page suddenly refreshes, and appears "Click here yo download.." in red (marked "dead-link" by your script).

This happens because the script tries/tried to check the DL link if it's real or not, after the timer has finished. So, instead of the file DLing normally, you get a message that you're already DLing because the script tested the file first (doesn't matter if it was just 1 byte, the conection was opened, so the site assumes you're DLing it).
I dunno if you've fixed this in this version, since i just added a line in the script that stops it from working on the actual DL page (not the start page, the page after the timer).

That is interesting. I followed your instructions and downloaded the file without incident. I am using a download manager: "Internet Download Manager" that takes over the download without a hitch. I am using the newest version of the script and it has NO excludes for file hosts. I'd like to keep it that way if possible. That paves the way for the next big release where people will be able to construct their own host checking list stored as a text file anywhere on the internet.
..
I'd recommend trying something like Internet Download Manager to handle the downloads from hotfile.com and let me know if this works for you also. There are a hundred other reasons something like IDM makes your life much, much easier.

I'm using IDM aswell, and anyone that isn't is an idiot :p
tried the new version (without adding the exclue link and not logged in at hotfile) and it sort of messed up again, in that it checked the DL link, but IDM captured it so it still worked, but clicking on it later didn't.
Maybe you should try DL'ing it with IDM turned off, that way you'll see the problem (if you haven't tried that already).

P.S.
When writing a comment directed at me, just type FFTLV, it'll be a lot easier :p

Darkblood,

I added the exclusion for hotfile and depositfiles for now. I will be changing the script to NEVER check at any of the host pages. This will take a little magic to include so for now, I'll make the script work the old-fashioned way.
..
