A couple of things added, but the major change was getting the script's features to all work on all videos. Hopefully it's all set now. Please let me know if it's still broken (and on which videos).

Here is the changelog for 0.99.8:

And all the issues are FIXED (unless I forgot one that you guys may have mentioned in here):

If you're not going to use my code, please at least use my css I fixed up for you, because your options box looks horrible.

Sometimes the video doesn't show at all, not even the controller with the play button - it's just black: http://i41.tinypic.com/2isgmcj.jpg

If I right click so the flash menu options open, the video initializes and it appears to start loading. It takes a little longer than usual for some reason, and when it starts to play after a while, none of the functions work again.

Here's one video where this has happened: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xijgXxusPMA

Guess it's not really fixed yet.

@x0rnn: Does it happen all the time? Because I opened that video, and it seems to be working fine. Maybe it was just bad luck? idk.

@Joe: I think it looks alright as it is. To be honest, I think your color scheme is way too dull for YouTube, and barely incorporates existing colors on the page (which is what I tried to do). If you really think it's "horrible" as is, I'll try to make it better, but I'm not really concerned about that right now.

Thanks for keep improving your script :D

Red, blue, and muave don't go together at all. It's not visually pleasing, you should pick some colors that go together i.e., a color and it's complementary color.
Why don't you see what other people think of the options box styling? Get some feedback.

No, it's not all the time. It's just sometimes.

This realy as become the crappiest GM extension I know of, a once so great script is now a bunch of stupid bells&whistles noone cares about, and which don't work as they should anyway.

@armvdw: It has all these 'bells and whistles' because people requested them. I've only added the core features that make the script what it is.

Is it really that bad? It is working, no? If you're using the latest version of firefox, it should be fine.

The only problems I'm hearing about are background tab related issues which I'll address as soon as I get a chance. Remember, all of us (try) to have lives, you know!

@Joe: I don't think my color mix is really that terrible. I agree, it might not be the most well advised thing, but is it really that bad? What do the rest of you guys think?

well personally i like black and blue. only change i would recommend, is to change either the red or blue. if i remember right, those 2 colors together is not the best thing in the world as if i remember right, from some class i took, your eyes can not focus on both colors at once. so maybe a change of 1 of those to another color might be better. but like i said, i like black and blue especially :).

I can make up a nice theme with black and blue (or black and red) if avg wants. The red and blue really clashes (i.e., the red vs blue video series. they used those colors because they're clashing colors). Certain colors [and color combinations] have a different impact on people, that's why they use red for stop signs and not green.
I definitely think blue and black should be kept in the color scheme; "Use blue to suggest precision when promoting high-tech products." (color meaning3)

that was an interesting read, joe, i'm putting it on my facebook. I'll go with blue + black, as that seems to be the general consensus.

But no red? oh well.

I don't know what colors u r gonna change but the options box has BLUE outline color, RED "Youtube HD Ultimate Options" background and BLACK background color with white text, it makes me focus on the text easyly, that's fine and practical. Besides that black background is nice. I don't know why so much interest in colors.

I think it is a pretty options box XD!

Another subject. There's a big eight-footed multicolor bug in ur script! it's almost the same someone said: Sometimes the video doesn't show at all, it's just black. If I right click so the flash menu options open, the video initializes and it appears to start loading. It takes a little longer than usual for some reason. Just sometimes. It's pretty weird, this had never happened to me >,<

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ese06aBkW_A That's the video, (enjoy XD!)
I hope it is just a problem of my comp and his, but it's weird isn't it? O.o

Oh, well it wasn't a bug that big.

Xd!

I can't comment on the colour scheme for the options box, because I found it redundant and stripped the code of the stuff I didn't need.

The try...catch seems to be causing this "video not showing up" bug. I reverted to how it was before and added player.src+=""; to where it was originally. Haven't had a video not show up or the script not to work since.

x0rnn: Can you email me the code of your version (aavindraa@gmail.com)? I took out player.src+=""; from the original place because it wasn't working that way.

I've sent it a few minutes ago.

It has always worked for me that way, so I don't know what kind of bugs others have been experiencing...

By the way, the tab issue started happening with this version: http://userscripts.org/scripts/diff/31864/97850 when you added player.style.position = "relative";

Commenting or deleting this seems to fix it, but the controller bar gets fucked.

Edit: www.ted.com and www.truveo.com videos don't load in the inactive tabs either. Maybe it's how Firefox works. I think this could be fixed with an onload event or something.

is there maybe a temp fix one of you could give to get around the video not starting right away(black box)? i would really appreciate it :).
