May I suggest a couple things...

1) Revise the SoS to disregard the result of the head-to-head matchup, i.e. if the Tazzytown Tigers (5-0) lose to the Madtown Boozers (5-0), then Tazzytown is credited with +5 W and +0 losses, not +6, and Madtown is credited with +5 W and +0 losses instead of being charged with a loss they gave someone. 2) Possibly split the SoS into W and L results and weight them accordingly. I'm discovering situations where teams who have played (and lost to) a series of undefeated teams are ranking higher than teams that are undefeated. Just suggestions. I've spent a lot of time developing spreadsheets to calculate rankings, and I've dealt with these types of bugaboos before. |

Strength of schedule is actually not used in the rankings at all. I just include it as a pretty stat to look at. I will add more of the pretty stats once I get around to writing some more code. Work has had me busy of late. Thanks for the suggestion. I will take a look at making that revision. |

OK, then I am completely confused by how the rankings are compiled, because it sure looks like teams that played tougher schedules (despite the results) are being ranked higher than teams that won all their games. |
