YouTube HD Ultimate is really a great script, thanks a lot for this outstanding work! But since watching videos in Flash always fires my laptop fans up to annoying screams I've changed from YouTube HD Ultimate to YouTube Perfect (http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/38074) which allows me to load MY movie player (my MP4 plugin, here: Quicktime) instead of Flash. This reduces my CPU usage strongly (ca. 20%) and avoids those annoying fan screams. If you would implement this option of switching to other MP4 plugins in YouTube HD Ultimate for me (and a lot of other users) it would be really ULTIMATE. Thanks again,

hi, i'm trying to keep this script minimalistic, and this, to me, definitely seems like an over the top kind of thing. i'll probably have to add in many lines of code, which I don't want to do. Plus, this feature exists in other scripts, as you pointed out. The features in my script take advantage of many of the features offered by the flash player and youtube's api. To add support for an mp4 player wouldn't make sense to me. sorry! |
