There is a checkbox under the "layout" section of preferences, the last checkbox, uncheck this and it will no longer start fullscreen. Auto Snap Fullscreen on Scroll is the name of this preference. This dissables the feature completely for now, in the future there may be some way to still trigger fullscreen (besides the slower enable double click fullscreen under JSAPI preferences).

I shut that option off in the settings but I'm still getting it maximized on load.

It might be that the hierarchy is misleading, you have to un-check it explicitly (not only Auto Scroll Past Header). It's this way because where the 'fullscreen' point exists is dependent on this setting above it (either at top or after the header).

When a hierarchy disables things (in vidzb) the sub-options disappear, otherwise sub options are related but not dependent on the hierarchy. The side effect of sub options being invisible sometimes is a convenient way to conceal too many or conflicting features. In this case I wanted to make it obvious that there was some way to modify the full-screen point (since I can see why the auto full-screen mid-scroll could get annoying), Sorry for the inconvenience, sometime the interface will get an upgrade, or the scrolL point will be separable from the start position (or the tab level will modify when asph un-checked most likely)

It is also possible preferences did not save properly, or you are using a different version than I am, or some other reason.

I have the same problem. I have the checkbox unchecked. This problem appeared with firefox 3.5.1. I tried 3.0.11 and everything is ok.
What firefox versions are you using?

working fine in 3.5.30729 for me, maybe there is some minor issue that would cause discrepancies but it seems unlikely but I'll try to look into it. Make sure you are shutting off the red one (not its parent).

My youtube videos take up the whole screen, so I can't even change the settings. This script is not working for me...

When you scroll, the video will no longer take up the full screen (you have to wait a second for the flash to scale sometimes). This is no longer default in the new version which will be posted in a minute, but you will still have to scroll up or down to reveal the preference toggle

@azim61 Thanks for posting about this problem, I believe I have solved it and will post the update soon. Unless snapfullscreen mode is enabled it won't do that (and then, it will only do it the right way)! I should have tested more configurations.

Anyone who is having problems with videos starting or stuck fullscreen needs to go into about:config and search for fullscreenmode and make sure its set to false. The next update will resolve this issue.

@EDALBNUG sorry for not finding your problem sooner, but in my testing I finally ran into this exact same problem, where I was unable to get to anything! Very serious indeed. It was a carry-over problem from an old feature to double click the video player for fullscreen, which would fullscreen the next page automatically, but it neglected to give a way to remove the fullscreen except double clicking the video which no longer is supported. Auto full-screening is not really working as intended right now.

In ANY case the next update should fix many of these issues so please stay tuned. There are so many settings and different configurations that even if it works fine for me its hard to test everything so I appreciate your understanding and support!

Please let me know if there are any more problems. It's still not perfect, but its better.
