error signing in
|

It doesn't work for me. The attempt to sign in returns a Bad request 400 error. |

Sorry to hear that. We don't have access to the Google authentication processing, but the same servers are used for signing in to both Gmail Notes and Gmail itself, so it is hard to guess what might be going wrong. For reference, is the Bad request page being shown in the login popup, in the Gmail Notes menu area, or does it replace the Gmail page itself? Any chance you are using a Google Apps account for email? For Google Apps Gmail, you have to sign in to Gmail Notes using a standard (non-Apps) account. That's a bit awkward, but we don't have access to the Google Apps authentication system. |

The error message appears in the login popup window. And I don't use Google Apps. But I use Gears, and offline is enabled in Gmail. (Of course, I'm online when trying to sign in.) |

It must be about Offline Gmail. I also use Firefox Portable, and now I installed Gmail Notes script on it, and it works fine on the same computer. On Firefox Portable offline mode is disabled. I also tried your script with the same non-portable Firefox but with a different user with the offline mode disabled, and it worked fine, too. So error occurs only when Offline Gmail is enabled in the browser. |

My guess is that something in the Google Account authentication cookie is interfering with the Gmail Notes login. Unfortunately, I doubt there's anything we can do to fix/workaround this, but I will post a question on the Google App Engine support forum. I'll also install Gears here and see if I can reproduce the problem. Thanks for the detailed investigation. |
