If I could get this script, or a one like it to work for other video providers, I'd be much less dependant on windows. My little brother likes to watch anime(me too kinda) and flash is choppy in fullscreen. How can I get other providers(google, myspace, veoh, megavideo) to run w/o flash. Also, I'd like to disable flash for youtube, but have the program, by default start running the script, much like it does if you take out the plugin altogether. Currently, you have to click 'view without flash' to make it work |

I don't know if it would be more popular to replace the Flash Player by default without having to click on the "View without Flash" link. I therefore uploaded a variant of the script with this behavior, so you can choose what you like better. Go here: Youtube without Flash Auto Make sure that only version of the script is enabled. Otherwise the script will appear twice below the video. Unfortunately, it would be quite a lot of work to get other video sites to run without Flash, at least with the approach of this script. What you could do is install a plugin like Video Download Helper to download the video and then watch it with mplayer. It's not as convenient as with an embedded player, but it works with many video sites. |
