Hello, I was wondering if is possible to add a text link like 'open in new tab' under each image, instead of 'framed view' (or maybe in addition).. Or also make a true/false option to enable the opening of each image in a new page by default.

That would be perfect I think ^^

Using the middle button on your mouse or ctrl+click should do the trick.

:) yes, I know, but a single, 'plain' left click in the right place is more comfortable for many users, I think

Done *g*
There is now a switch in the code, set targetBlank = true to rewrite the links with a target=_blank attribute.

Sorry for disturb, but I'd like to go further.. any idea to have images automatically opening in a new BACKGROUND tab (with Opera, at least)?

Thanks ^_^'

You know what would be great? 2 things: 1) if when you hovered over the image, it popped up the original size with ajax (like fotolia or the imdb mod) and 2) perhaps put the link to cool iris back. This is the best mod for this, makes it like it used to be with customize google. Better add "original" to your title, since others have copied the name.

@Roccobot
As long as browsers don't provide a API for JavaScript to control link behavior, that's not possible for Greasemonkey. You have to configure your browser to fulfill you needs.
