Allow Buffer, No Autoplay
|
|
Hello Mindeye or anyone else who can help, I like this script very much but still have problems with the setting to allow buffering but prevent autoplay, in that the clps often just play regardless. This is a nightmare when opening several clips in tabs!
What I do find, is that the script Youtube Buffer Video by Yansky does more consistently work for me. However I never know if it is possible/how to correctly order the Greasemonkey scripts to best interract with YouseableTubeFix. Or indeed, how to edit YTF to use the Yansky method, whatever that may be. If it helps in any reply here, my primary needs when playing clips, are to always force the lowest CPU usage possible (and presumably quality/bit rate) and have buffer but no autoplay. I also use and enjoy the other features offered by YTF, but those are my main 'issues' on Youtube. Thanks for any expertise on this! Lee

Sorry if I bother you, but if you want to lowest CPU usage... why don't you use a native plugin (Quicktime, VLC...) instead of the inherently inefficient flash player? This script allows you to play Youtube videos on MP4 format with your native plugin: |

leecovuk: That setting works ok for me, although I don't use it very often. I'll take a look at that script to see if his method is better, thanks for the suggestion About CPU use, I'll add an option to replace Flash too if bug 435339 and related are fixed for Firefox 3.5 |

Thanks for those replies, Victor and Mindeye. I'll look into that script, Victor, and give it a go, at least as a little experiment. Lee
