http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_OyliDlTM_Q

"Don't checking updates" on the Options menu should be "Don't check for updates."
I haven't used the script. I've only looked at the screenshots so I may be wrong.

Víctor Pimentel Script's Author

Joe, thanks for your comment. The menu has a problem: it shows what option is active, but that text it is also a link for change the option. So, if I change that for "Don't check for updates"... what am I telling, that I'm not checking for updates or that updates are disabled by clicking on that link?

I'm working on a solution more conventional: checkboxes and bigger descriptions. That way there's no problem :)

Víctor Pimentel Script's Author

Anyway, I'm adding the "for" so now it says "Checking for updates" and "Ignoring updates".

If got a problem with your script. At the option-menu there is missing the tick. I think it´s because i don´t have a fonts that you used.

Das Dingo, I think I will use images instead of characters in the next release. In the meantime, you'll have to learn what strange symbol is for an active option xD

By the way, since you use the German translation and I don't speak German, do you see any mistranslation? Thanks in advance :)

perwel2 User

youtube fix

Buggy Scriptwright

Hey, Víctor!
I don't know if this has already been posted somewhere or if you're currently working on a fix, but when an HD-Video automatically loads in HD, is forced to do so by your script or HD is toggled via the 'HD'-button in the Flash-player, your HD-button underneath the video still shows "HD on".
If you click on it, the video loads in normal quality and the button says "HD off".
It's kinda confusing. I took a screenshot of the behaviour in case my explanation isn't that understandable.

I'm using the German translation but "HD an" means "HD on".

I don't know if this is happening to anyone else but all of a sudden the Expand button is broken for me. The video still expands, but the rest of the page doesn't move down like it's supposed to, so the video ends up covering the video info and most of the buttons.

@Wes M
I'm also getting this. It started sometime in the last day or two I think. YouTube probably updated something on their site.

Sorry, it seems that Youtube has changed some width. I can't fix right now, I have to finish an assignment for tomorrow. This weekend will be fixed :/

New issue: all of the options in the menu show up as "undefined" instead of having a checked or unchecked box next to them. Clicking on the option will set it to true and add the checked box. Clicking it again will uncheck the box, but it will still be set to true. If I click it again after that, the box remains unchecked, and it is still set to true. When I quit Safari and relaunch, all of the options are back to undefined, and I have to set everything again. Any variables that are changed within the script itself are completely ignored. I checked to make sure the cookies that store the information for those variables were still there, and they are, so I'm not sure what's going on.

Well, I have fixed the markup, you should see the player as before. With the big update they made, it's remarkable this is the only (but annoying) problem. I also add a nice feature: it will show the playing time in the window's title, only when the MP4 player is selected.

I chose the window's title because if I try with an element within the page, Firefox will redraw all the page, including the plugin. This brought quite a bad experience to the script (the player froze every second, increase CPU usage...), so the only option is to use the window's title.

Wes M, in Safari those options are stored as a Cookie. I couldn't reproduce your bug in my machine (at least using Greasekit), so you may try to check you have Cookies enabled. If so, you could just delete your cookies and try again. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Hey, I just noticed that the "turn down the lights" button now completely darkens the page. I really liked the dimmed style where the site shined through a bit. Would it be possible to get this style back, too?
And the HD on/off button still malfunctions, as Buggy pointed out before.

Everybody, you should check this another script, it's like this one but works in every page (but Youtube). It's only the first version, but I think it's pretty good, though it could be a bit CPU intensive:

http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/46219

dert07: Yes, I've modified its behaviour, but if you like I could change it back. About the other bugs, I'm working on a new architecture for the plugin, that will allow to buffer the video in the MP4 version without playing. I mean, that big change will bring some other changes, so some things will be different.

Victor: I figured out what the problem was. There's a script called GM_Functions that I'm using to make a few GreaseMonkey-only scripts work with GreaseKit. It's supposed to replicate all the "GM_" functions that aren't in GreaseKit, and apparently the GM_getValue and GM_setValue functions in that script don't always work. I just had to tweak the code a little so that it doesn't refer to those functions and now everything works perfectly.

It would be so cool if you could change it back to the old behaviour. I like the dimmed version most but the switching between normal, dimmed and black might be a better solution if others like the black version more.
Or you could include a setting in the options-box for standard (normal -> dimmed -> black), dimmed or black if possible. So everyone would be satisfied.^^
