Or technically, auto-appear it.
Specifically when in full minimalistic mode ('u' and 'w' , uhm, enabled), auto-appear the list ( that would appear if 'w' was not enabled and one clicked the navigation button to open the subscription list ) when pressing shift+j|k|x , and autohide/close the list once shift+o is pressed - and perhaps autohide after a couple of seconds of inactivity.
