Thanks for all your suggestions and work to help me fix these things.

I don't know about "consider the script broken as it stands" (ya ya _chuckle_ I know you're being sarcastic), but I do agree that it's annoying and have had that on my list of important updates. I have some ideas and I appreciate your diligence and ideas to fix the Suggest-background, and will get that nailed just for you in the upcoming update!

From a usability perspective, I like your idea to lengthen the search box. Instead of px-length I will probably use an em-value so it spans proportionally with font size [fyi.] Thank you for the enhancement!

Oh ya! Search Preferences, I see they updated that page again! ;) ha! Thanks for pointing that out, I'll get to that too!!!!

Like I said before, I appreciate [ALL] your comments and suggestions because I need people like you to tell me when Google changes little things that I didn't notice yet. There are so many aspects and pages of the-big-G, and as crazy as it seems, this script tries to enhance them all. (Well that's the end-goal.) So obviously there are a lot of pages and Google updates things from week to week so it's a huge job, but nothing is impossible. ;) ;)
For everyone waiting for their own suggestions in the TO-DO, please continue to be patient and I will get to these sections asap. Feel free to leave your ideas and critism here and I will do my best to help you!

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that. What I did was expand the textbox and the containers around it to the maximum allowed percentage width that allows the browser to be at the site's min and max width while not distorting the text around it--thus the advanced & preferences links always stay in the right place. The percentage makes the width-enhancement work for the most possible users.

The example you used above should work, it just has an extra ';' after the 675px, thus canceling out the '!important' override. (Putting the '!imp..' behind any attribute overrides any cascading rules and applies that setting no matter what.) Try this:

Just got Google Voice added. They do some trickery to make it hard, but I brute forced the style updates to enhance this site just for you my friend. Thanks for the inspiration to figure that out; now I can use this new technique to enhance some other G.sites that I couldn't figure out how-to before.

Images size & source text has been fixed, in addition to an Improved G-logo, Shopping grid view price and an Updated News AP layout in v2.4.1. I hope these updates help!

Good question. I would think, YES, that although ABP is removing the logos per your custom rule, this script is re-inserting them because it is looking for certain elements to modify (after ABP has run; plus my logos would not match your rules.)

But there is a VERY easy solution!

After installing the latest version of google Enhanced BLACK, edit this script and look for the following logo-code:
